Total Lunar Eclipse this weekend

More information at http://www.hermit.org/Eclipse/2007-03-03/

If you're in the area that can see it, DON'T MISS IT! These are much more spectacular than a total solar eclipse because you can actually look at them. Also, it's a great opportunity to take some werewolves by surprise. If you know any, get your silver bullets ready.
Wikissassi sucks.

It would be great, but looks like the clouds that have been covering the sky fully for a few days aren't in any hurry to go anywhere. Seems like a no dice situation here.

It seems you have to be in Africa and Europe to really enjoy this.

It seems I able to see a total eclipse (I'm in Rhode Island) but I'm in some "blue zone" in the map. So I will only get to see it briefly?

Cool, but what the hell is UT and what time can I see it in GMT? :P
nope.
2007-03-02, 8:30 AM #7
K I did a bit of research, and UT (Universal Time) is the standard "non-colloquial" name for GMT. They're one and the same. Enjoy!

Excellent the site experiences a massive slowdown just as I get to it. :(

Edit: There goes the site. Although apparently, I won't see a shred of it. Stupid California :argh:

Wont be able to see it from where I live.

BAH!

It's raining here, therefore cloudy.
nope.

Can some East coasters/Europeans get shots of the eclipse? It'll still be bright and sunny when it begins and ends here.

I'm not gonna stay awake to see that. Unless I do. Probably not!

It's really cloudy here at the moment (and I don't have a camera). :(
Sorry for the lousy German

And I got the day wrong. :P

I can see it in full view from my front door. I'll try and grab a pic.
nope.
2007-03-03, 12:48 PM #17
That would be awesome. It will be about 5:30 here when it starts, and the moon won't be up yet, but I'm hoping to catch the end of it.
Wikissassi sucks.

All the clouds suddenly have gone away. Or actually they went away already yesterday evening. Now I can view it just nicely. From my own balcony, no less. Lazy man's astronomy...

It was pretty funky. No pictures though. No camera.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I didn't even try to take pictures with my canon. 2x zoom isn't exactly optimal for astronomical photos...

Still, it was nice and interesting to check out all the phases.

Saw most of it last night, some of the students up the road were having a mini street party and playing bongo drums to celebrate.

No pics, sorry, the light pollution here is so bad that the sky is either light purple or orange depending on cloud cover even in the middle of the night.

The whole sky was totally covered with clouds. I couldn't see very much.
