WTH? This better not be some lame excuse to write her off the show. The problem with Galactica is that it teases us and doesn't give us much explanation

At first I thought it was going to be Battlesoap Galactica and had the remote in my hand to switch to The Dark Ages on the History Channel.

I'm glad I stuck around though.

But seriously, I stopped caring about her a long time ago. I suppose that they're going to have to get someone new to fly a Viper now...

Of course, of all the main characters that have died, how many have actually stayed dead...?

I'm almost positive that Starbuck is one of the final five. Sooo many references to what Six was saw when she died over and over again. The bright light, other things that I forget because it was 3 in the morning.

I'm almost sure of it. And I don't really know how I feel about it...

I've stopped watching this show 5 minutes into the "evil doctor" episode. If the show became cool again (judging by the abundance of spoiler tags), any other episodes I should watch (as in, anything important happening) or should I just skip to the current one?

Resurrection Ships only work if in range. There is no indication of cylon activity when Starbuck's viper blew

We don't "know" that. Maybe she saw the cylon raider, maybe she didn't.

They didn't actually explain that.

She got blown up by walking over a mine in season 2

Well Apollo said he could see the raider and something definitely shot up her viper, it didn't just damage itself

But they couldn't find any damage on her viper after the first one, remember? Did we actually see the raider from Apollo's perspective, or only from Starbuck's? And her viper was destroyed by the storm, not by enemy fire.

I really don't think Apollo saw that raider. He says "I got a visual! I got a visual!" He was probably referring to the fact that he found Starbuck. Remember, he couldn't see **** at all in the clouds. Also, Apollo never attacked at all.

I have a theory based on ideas from the original series.

Starbuck survived somehow. I refuse to believe they would spend the entire episode building up to her special destiny, only to have her commit suicide with no reasonable explanation. Towards the end of the series (most likely the fourth season) Starbuck will return and be humanity's true savior.

Call me a nerd all you wish.

Viper pilots only say "I got a visual" usually when they're on a search and rescue or finding someone like in Starbuck's position.

Also, three more episodes left. I think it's a safe bet we won't see her until next year.

If I recall from the original battlestar, Starbuck (as a guy...) "died" after crashing on a planet. But in reality, he was saved by some alien light things and was going to be brought back in an episode called "return of Starbuck" or something like that. But due to cancellation of the series, the script never aired. And no, I'm not making it up, though some of my facts are no doubt incorrect due to my memory.

Yeah, but I thought the episode Starbuck escapes from that rock in the dead raider was a throw-back to those episodes.

Ah, I forgot about Starbuck being saved by the alien light things. That makes me even more sure that starbuck is alive. If you remember, the Leoben in her mind told her he was going to show her what hangs in the space between life and death. But we already know what hangs between life and death thanks to Lucy Lawless earlier this season - the temple of 5, and the 5 cylon's cloaked in white light.

Too much of a coincidence, or do you think the writers are adapting that theme to the new series?
