No.

And you also linked a page that has obscene language. Shame! :hist101:

I remember when Maddox articles used to be a lot longer and more angry.

Those were the days. Nevertheless, he makes a lot of good points here.

The mac users that talk all the time are the ones you hear from. Duh.

Normal people, such as myself, just use it and act like a normal human being.

[And maddox sucks.]

I don't see what qualities he has over a 6th grader. Both can swear every two words, both whine like little bi***es when they don't like something, and both whine about stuff that doesn't matter.

If you would bother to sit down and read his book you'd understand how awesome he is. His writing style is great and his humor works on a few levels.
Think while it's still legal.

....Except he has stated NUMEROUS times that he writes for entertainment purposes and laughs at people dumb enough to take him seriously.

I'm not saying to take him seriously, I'm just saying he's a good writer and he knows how to place humor into a situation.

That was in reply to mscbuck. You just ninjaposted in the middle. :\

I don't take him seriously, and I know when he writes it's in a joking manner. Problem is that he does nothing that makes me laugh, and does nothing that can separate himself from a 6th grader.

Whatever, that's my final say. I just don't find funny at all.

His book is an order of magnitude more awesome than his website postings, btw.

This is so important to understand his older stuff.

"OH EM GEE, DID HE MAKE FUN OF CHILDREN!?"

That's the entertainment, is the person complaining.

I can see why some people find him funny, but I find him about as funny as Roy Chubby Brown.

Weak.
2007-03-06, 1:37 PM #24
It needs more content and less vanilla insults.

Well thought out cutting witty insults = funny.

Swearing = boring.

Some of his other ones were better, but it was time for a Mac post.
2007-03-06, 1:47 PM #25
To be honest, posting something that was both pretty crap and very short by Maddox is going to get more grief than the subject matter itself, even if he were banging on about evolution, creationism, linux, fyzziks and posting his desktop.

No, but doesnt it make sense to offer something funny for free in order to get people to pay? I read that and thought "oh, well thats dumb. I could have thought up the same thing if i was bored." It doesnt make me want to go out and buy his book.

Maddox > You.

Also, Tiberium_Empire, the correct url is 'maddox.xmission.com', not 'www.thebestpageintheuniverse.com'.

You have to pay more for the internet than you do for a book.
DO NOT WANT.
2007-03-06, 2:32 PM #30
Except the internet is infinitely larger then a book.

Hmm he says you have to install iTunes to install QuickTime. I'm think that WAS true for a brief period a couple years back (not too sure) but they definitely new offer an iTunes-free version. I just downloaded it yesterday.

iTunes does plug into everything... my one encounter with this is when the CD drive on a lab computer stopped working. iTunes had installed a CD driver layer and when iTunes was uninstalled the registry entry for the layer was still there... and the driver broke. I fixed it by comparing the entry with a "normal" CD driver's entries.
