oi I wanted a new desktop thread cause i am so proud of mine ;)

but, you have to look at the video to get the idea (cause it's not a normal desktop background but a skydome):

That's a creative use of beryl! How did you keep the panels to stay during rotate? Where did you get the idea for that? Stuff like this makes me glad I moved to Linux.

Nice. I've got a space-skybox, too. But on mine the resolution is still not as high as I'd like it to be. Care to share when you're finished?

That's the option "Stick Sticky Windows to Screen" under Desktop Cube. I don't know in which version they introduced this, I've got 0.1.9999.2.

sure, it's quite easy to make one... just use google picture search to find a lot of space images, make a new big image (mine is 4096x1024), add some stars to the black background (use some noise RGB filter and curves to adjust the amount of stars) and than position the other elements...

4096x1024 seems to bee good, 4096x2048 slows down my pc a bit

now we just need something plugin that lets ships float around the cube :))

Aaaargh I'd post mine but photobucket won't allow images more than 2048 pixels wide :saddowns:

It's pretty boring though; just a solid light blue colour for the background.

Jim yours is amazing. Good christ. I looked at it for about 60 seconds thinking: God, that is dramatic and artful, what movie is it from? Then I thought, Wait a minute, that's some video game, it must be something new and extremely well-produced, and I thought it mighta been killzone or something, but I couldn't remember seeing anything like that from it, and then I thought, "Wait... that helicopter is vurry familiur -_o"
