Problems with WMC in Vista
2007-03-08, 5:23 PM #1
Got my TV card from newegg today. I had no problems installing it or getting it set up with windows media center, but when I try to have WMC windowed instead of fullscreen, the picture and sound from the live TV stutters horribly. I've looked through every setting in WMC and done some google searches, but I can't find a solution to this outside of using a different TV software (which I'd rather not use because I like the way WMC works.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or have some suggestions of good TV software?

[EDIT]On a quick look, it seems to only stutter when I use Vista Aero, if I change to Vista Basic there's no stuttering. I also found something that said it could be the mpeg decoder that windows is using, i'll keep looking though[/EDIT]

TV card support on Vista, especially with Aero, is really hit and miss right now. Probably because manufacturer's are forced to write their software correctly now.

:P Seriously though, people don't realize that Vista pages everything in that "wasted RAM" when an application needs it. It would be stupid to have your system memory 80% free with nothing open. That means that 80% of your memory is being wasted.
