I've had roughly 13 surgeries in my entire lifetime. Several had small percentages to live, while others were rather mild. I've since gone about 6 years without having any kind of surgery (Due to throat complications, I can't. There are about 3 things I could be having surgeries for.)
I and my mother recall the doctor mentioning something about anesthetics being stored in the brain, or some kind of effect to that measure. It eventually wears off, but for the time being, it causes long term memory loss (Something I do know is true.)
Lately, I've BARELY slept, and when I do sleep, I have dreams of being chopped up and my bones twisted. I kick and fight in my sleep. When I breath in deeply, I can smell anesthesia. It was so strong last night I nearly threw-up.
I also had an anesthetic headache for about a week last week, and another one just started up an hour ago. These are things you have the months after a surgery where you get splitting migraines for days on end. This one an hour ago triggered after I had what felt like an hour long experience in about 20 seconds. I blacked out and imagined getting an entire operation done, but while awake. I had just been sitting there, staring off into the distance when I came through. My parents didn't notice anything.
I've been getting worse and worse ocd lately. Not wanting to touch people or look at their eyes or the insides of their mouth. I have episodes like this once or twice a year where I just really don't like flesh and stuff like that, and the doctors I've worked with claim it's a common thing for patients with so many surgeries to experience now and again. This episode, however, has been one of the longest, and one of the most extreme. I don't even like teeth sometimes. I'd like to see a psychiatrist or something, but since turning 18, my insurance has narrowed the list of medical procedures that they'll cover. I might call them to see if it's covered. I think at least an evaluation would be helpful. I know it's NOT that serious of a situation because I'm very aware of everything going on, and it feels very external.
Anyway, I'm not trying to alarm anyone; I just thought it'd be cool to share. It doesn't seem like all that serious of a thing, it's just a loss of sleep, and a heightened sensitivity to touch and stuff. Have any of you shut-ins experienced similar things?
A disclaimer: I'm not a doctor. For all I know, I could just be under a lot more stress lately. I'm just going off of what I seem to recall being accurate about anesthesia.
