Collier and Company - Hot Pursuit

I debated posting this here since Massassi is a finicky bunch. John Schneider of the original Dukes of Hazzard fame and friends have put their personal fortunes on the line to produce and distribute Collier and Company - Hot Pursuit. John's hoping for word of mouth to get people to see his movie.

I saw the movie tonight and got a couple autographs from him. His goal was to make a film that the entire family can enjoy, much like the Dukes of Hazzard TV series (as opposed to the most recent films). First, I can't say the movie is great. It is definitely low budget. Essentially homemade. There really only seems to be two to three professional actors in the film. What it does do well is give people who appreciate the effort some good old fashioned action scenes and wholesome entertainment. I cannot recommend the movie on its merits but I can highly recommend it to those that like the Dukes TV series and things of that sort. What was also important to me was helping somebody whom I appreciate by spending some money seeing his movie and buying some souvenirs.

The show started a little late because John was running a little late. In his haste to get to the theater he was pulled over for going 117 in a 70 in a General Lee replica. Then at least one of the three General Lees parked in front of the theater promoting the film got a parking ticket. After the film one of the replica owners was giving a disabled kid a ride. Pretty good stuff.

If anyone is interested you can probably find the film for a short time in a local Carmike theater.

You posted a thread about a film you didn't find very appealing and not quite worth endorsing but decided to endorse it anyway, out of pity. :psyduck:

I like John from Smallville but to be perfectly honest I don't think this was a best decision he and his friends have made. But then again I'm sure that there are a lot of NASCAR Southerners who would probably enjoy this sort of film.

It's not that the film is "bad" there are just critically better films to see. It's very amateurish. It does do driving action well and does have about $20 million worth of exotic automobiles. I don't recommend it out of pity. I recommend it only for what it is and to those that would appreciate it.

I don't suppose you're referring to the Thoroughbred 20?
