Assume for a sec that you have your bathtub faucet running to fill it up with pleasant-temperature water. This is the kind of faucet where there's a hot knob and a cold knob, and you turn each one varying amounts to determine the overall temperature of the water. The stream is a pretty strong one, and there is an ample amount of both hot and cold water going into it.

Now, you run your hand under the water and realize that it is too cold. You want it to be warmer.

What do you do? (See poll choices above)

I usually increase the hot water, and then, if it's still too cold, reduce the cold water.

I decrease the cold, then if it gets too hot i'll throw a little more in there.

I usually just put hot water with little or no cold water in the tub. I like my baths to mimic a hot tub.

I always turn hot on full....then adjust the cold from there.

Increase hot to fill the tub faster

Well, seeing that the hot water here acts as "on/off", the cold is the only real variable.

I decrease cold first, so I don't have a tidal wave coming out of my faucet; then I fiddle with the hot to get it perfect.

I always decrease cold water first. That way, the faucet isn't dispensing water too quickly.

I turn the hot up like a fire hose. If it's still cold. I turn it up more.

Yeah. The answer is so obvious, how could anyone vote for something else?

(Unless you start by turning the heat on all the way. :P)

Never had a tub.

Nor a tubgirl.

I just get in the damn tub. Why do you spend so much time thinking about these things?
