Yeah, you bring up good points. And It's always preferable to be alive. But I guess I was trying to point out the psychological implications of not getting to go while lots of your friends die, more than anything else.

I guess we more or less agree. And JG, I would say this is one of the subjects that gets touched on least in regards to the military and needs to be done so a lot more.

Also, spook, I didnt mean to indicate anything about you not knowing anything about war... I just didnt understand why you said people have nightmares about "coming home" from war.

They're definitely not the same kind of nightmares as when you're not sure if it was your grenade that blew up the little kids or the enemy's. But from what I've heard, it's recurring dreams with themes of uselessness.
