Yet another game I've never heard of before (and that looks pretty cool).

This is going to be a great game. Another of my most-anticipated for this year.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Sure nice of them to tell us what system it's for. Not even the official website had it on there. I eventually had to google for it.

Looks like it's definitely going into the 'pickup if there isn't a game I already want coming out at the same time' catagory.
Wikissassi sucks.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be for 360. Maybe the PS3, too.

Been confirmed for PS3 first, but it has been confirmed for X-Box 360 too.

This is one of the few games where it's sounds like they're actually listening to their military advisors and aren't so concerned what casual gamers think. I'm excited.

Are you kidding?

That game seems very anti-what the millitary would actually do.
2007-03-17, 1:55 PM #10
Explain what's so anti-military about it before I tell you to read up on SOCOM and private militaries.

I dunno, skull helmets, riding on a raised forklift to shoot bad guys, lack of armor, stupid tactics.

It all seemed like very non-procedure stuff.
2007-03-17, 2:02 PM #12
...lack of armor? They're wearing, what a year ago was to be a prototype (but is now being overlooked by some new possible armor systems *coughDragonSkincough*), body armor that was to be developed by the Army. They're covered in armor. The "skull helmets" are based on ballistics masks being developed by the LAPD SWAT along with U.S. and English SpecOps. Tactics, including riding on a forklift, is up to the player, it's hard to keep players from doing stupid things.

As far as "non-procedure" stuff goes, that's what makes SpecFor awesome.

I dunno, it just looks like a giant collage of excuses or a vaguely millitary-like shooter with a bunch of funny put in it.

GOD DAMNIT YOU XBOX360, STOP GETTING GOOD GAMES THAT MAKE ME WANT TO BUY YOU!

Eh, I can't say much until I play the damn thing, but I'm looking forward to it.

I don't really care if it's real life militarily accurate, it still seems quite awesome.

Looks pretty sweet, but EA is way better at making trailers than games.

Thats another good reason why I should buy a new games console :)
Looks awesome and yep its worth a go. Having a small income is woeful.

Yeah, I don't even care about trailers anymore. Name a single game that was as cool as its trailer... yeah.

Final Fantasy XII.

Rogue Squadron 2

Soul Calibur 2

Were any of those made by EA?

EA is EVIL. Look at how they treat their employees!

NFL games sort of ruined themselves, what with how boring they were after about 1996.
2007-03-18, 8:34 AM #24
You miss the point. EA bought exclusive rights to the NFL name, so it's not like anyone else has a chance to innovate or bring something new to the table.
2007-03-18, 9:16 AM #25
Did anyone else just find that video annoying?

I think I'm getting old...

But it's very what the military actually does.

PFC Spook is standing on the shoulders of LCpl Rose, trying to do dynamic entry on a building.

PFC Spook:Okay, stand up

LCpl Rose:I am standing up

PFC Spook:No, push me in the window

LCpl Rose:You're not in the window?

PFC Spook:No

LCpl Rose:Okay

*PFC Spook falls from second deck window*

PFC Spook: The ****?

LCpl Rose:I thought you said go...

And falling asleep in the brief. "Sorry, we were out kind of late last night" :downswords:

And Rob, as for "non-procedure". Huh?

Yeah, it looks pretty funny.

Dude, there hasn't been anything OMG NEW EXCITING about football games since like 1996.
2007-03-18, 3:18 PM #28
It looked pretty funky to me: hopefully the co-op will be a giggle.

*adds to list with Spore and Bioshock*
2007-03-18, 5:16 PM #29
Okay, it looks nice, but it does NOT belong on the same list as Spore or Bioshock. (For that matter, why are those two together? Spore gets a list of it's own.)
Wikissassi sucks.
2007-03-18, 11:16 PM #30
It's just my purchase list, not a definitive OMGLIST of special games. If hadn't already coughed up the cash Star Wars Lego 2 would've been on it :P

Yes there has, and regardless, there won't ever be as long as EA holds license.
2007-03-19, 12:22 PM #32
No, there really hasn't.

The controls are almost always the same. The only thing they've added are more sim elements. LAME.

I just hope the wii makes sports games worth my time now.
2007-03-19, 5:27 PM #33
Just a minor rant that's barely related but does anyone else get really annoyed when game companies advertise their games using CGI rendering of the game's graphics instead of in-game footage and try to pass that off as actual game footage? Those of us that know how games are made aren't stupid and gullible like the average gamer so they're not impressing me one bit when they pull that crap on me.

...even if it was rendered in game, the movements are obviously scripted for the advertisement, giving the viewer a false idea of how the game will actually play out.
The cake is a lie... THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!
2007-03-19, 7:36 PM #34
It's scripted, sure. That's not to say that with the right series of input you couldn't duplicate exactly what they show.
Wikissassi sucks.

I hate madden games, hate hate hate hate hate.

However, I can't help but realise how wrong you are. There seems to be a new revelation in their gameplay every 4-5 games or so...
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

Well, if it were two player like I hope it is, you can probably do messed up **** like that on purpose.

Kind of like 2 player B mode of old sidescrolling beat-um-ups on nes. You could wallop your buddy. It was mad funny when it came to jumping puzzles, you could kick the other guy into pits to be a jerk. :)

The gameplay kind reminds me of the lost vikings game where you had to coordinate three vikings (each with different skills) in order to solve the puzzles are beat the level. Hopefully the AI is advanced enough in this game to allow the guy you don't have control over to navigate and react properly on his own until you switch to him.
