I've got WinRAR installed on my Vista system. Every time I open a RAR file with WinRAR, UAC prompts me to confirm that I do, indeed, wish to run WinRAR. This is annoying; however, the shell extensions for right-clicking on files to add a file to an archive doesn't work, and I suspect that it's due to UAC automatically blocking it.

Is there a way to tell UAC to always allow WinRAR?

First thing I did after I installed vista was turn UAC off, it's just annoying to me.

I think that might be all you can do.

You can do various things to make UAC less annoying without removing all of its benefits. I wish those options were easily available in the control panel.

You could also use a real archiving tool such as TUGZip.

Sounds like WinRAR might not be Vista compatible... but check the EXE properties, make sure the compatibilities tab doesn't have Run as administrator checked.
