Ok then, it looks like Call of Duty with better looking weapons.

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

But FC is static as hell, STALKER is much more dynamic.

It might not be the prettiest game on the market, but it doesn't really look dated to me. Though the screenshots don't really do the graphics justice. Since the things that make STALKER look good are the rising and settling dust clouds, the flocks of birds and the dynamic lights.

Then you don't have dynamic lighting on highest. Even 7900GTs have problems with it, and the video card is the main reason.

I have everything on maximum. The only thing in the options I don't have on or at maximum is vsync. I'm using a resolution of 1280x1024 (my native)

The only "performance related issue" I'm getting is that windows keeps informing me that it's running out of virtual memory. But that doesn't seem to hinder the game from running.

Oh and I get a stutter every now and then when the game has to load up a lot of new terrain.

Oh and this is while running Opera, mIRC, AVG and iTunes in the background.

I've seen the game run fluently on computers with a 6800gtx and 2 gb of ramwith almost everything on full. (I think it was everything on full except for dynamic lighting, but I'm not 100% sure.)

I have a comparable PC to Landfish's, and I get 30-50 fps everything on high but with static lighting. Dynamic lighting is impossible on a 6800 of any flavor, and hard on the 7800GT.

there's a config file floating around that actually brought visual improvments and higher resolution to my stalker experience... shadows look a bit worse than they did

before that 1152x864 with somewhere betwen the low and medium preset and full dynamic was what i used
