yeah, I thought it might suck too, but it was really good, the only thing about it I had a problem with at first was splinter's voice.. sounded kinda silly.. but after the first 15 seconds of hearing it, I didn't care anymore.

dem's fightin' werds.

Anyway, was it just me, or did the CG in the previews look wholly unimpressive? That's what turned me off mainly.

Saw the movie Saturday night, and really enjoyed it. The storyline was well developed and interesting, they did a good representation of the characters, and the CG was great. I mean, the showdown between Leo and Raph on the roof, in the rain, under the neon lights? Whew. Totally awesome.

They did a good job continuing the storyline from where it left off back in the 90's, but made it so that if you couldn't remember what happened (like me) you were caught up without feeling stupid. The movie's plot is mostly independent of anything that's happened in the past, so if you at least know who the major characters are, you're good to go.

It was worth my $6, and I'm thinking of going again.

I thought it would be bad too. Guess I'll give it a rental in the future.

My friend and I were massive TMNT fans in the late 80s/early 90s, so we h ad to go see this. We really weren't expecting much, and that's pretty much what we got. Some things I really liked (as mentioned, the raph vs. leo scene was awesome), some I didn't (April fighting). Overall it was fine, could have been a lot worse.

Also, we were late and missed the first couple minutes. As we walked in the scene where they show what happened 3000 years ago with the warrior was just finishing. It seemed like they mostly recapped this later in the film, did we miss anything important/cool?

It was better than I thought as well.

I liked it better in the old movies where they had real actors wearing rubber, rather than the cartoony CGI crap kids love nowadays.

I'm talking about porn btw

They actually wanted to do real life shoots again for this movie, but no studios would accept it, turning the project in general. Most were skeptical of any success since the turtle craze was done for years. Doing the CGI was much cheaper in the end and animations studios were willing to take on the project.

You see the General mass his huge army against another huge one...some basic sword smashing, then he brings the big artifact to the middle of the battle and that pillar of energy comes down from the sky, which he can use to lash out at the enemy and route them. Then all the monsters come out of the vortex and attack his own army. That's probably right where you came in.

Ahh, yeah, we came in just before the narrator saying the general was unable to reverse what he had done. Thanks.

Also you missed the cool scene right at the beginning with the turtles running along the rooftops. Which was way cool, but they did a few other similar scenes throughout, so no loss.

Yeah, I wondered if I missed the theme song from the 80s cartoon or something, that would have been cool.

I was hoping for that as well, but sadly, it didn't happen. I was thinking perhaps there were copyright problems because they used the abbreviated name and didn't have the theme song, but it turns out they were just trying to be more "serious."

Just saw it, very good. The one liners were very canned though, they always seemed to have been just put there, without any regard to what's going on in the scene. Other than those, though, the movie was excellent.

I was thinking about it later, and realized the song mentions Shredder so it wouldn't really be appropriate for the movie.
