So I was browsing Youtube a moment ago and I closed my explorer. When I did this, a sound file started playing.. it was a couple of voices whispering saying something to the extent of "oh my god" and "did you see that" with something else kinda making nonsense in the background. At first I thought it was something on tv in the next room, but I turned up the volume on my headphones and it was actually on the computer. Didn't see anything running in task manager but that doesn't really mean much. I restarted and it went away.

Anybody else ever hear of this little sound file haunting someone's PC?

That happens to you a lot? is it the same sort of thing with the whispering voices? or is it a random sound effect?

Random. Most of the time from whatever i was just watching.

I've heard sounds from pages that I hadn't navigated to yet before. Yeah, my computer can see the future.

I was listening to music on my headphones, oblivious to the world and thinkign my roommate was asleep when she comes up behind me and wispers my name in this really creepy voice. I flipped my lid, I thought evil voices from inside my headphones were coming to get me or something.

Like, omg, it might be an ad with audio!

but the browser was closed, I had nothing running.. not to mention I don't think there were any ads that would relate to the noises I was hearing before closing the browser.

The flashplayer that youtube uses might not be closing at the same time as the browser. I got that when I played the infinite mario bros. game with java.

I assume your "explorer" would be Internet Explorer? Have you got this issue with other browsers?

3 pairs of headphones ago, I had speakers that picked up a classical music radio station some how. The headphones would somehow amplify the speakers, and when I'd fall asleep at the computer, I'd start to hear classical music playing with the MCs voices sounding like dead people. It was really really scary. Until I realized that the speakers were really sensative to waves.

Yes it's with Internet Explorer, this computer doesn't have any other browsers on it.

I suppose you're right, I've got it on my dad's computer, I should get it on this one too.

Very occasionally I'll get snatches of walkie-talkie conversations coming through my PC/Headphones or through my guitar amp.

could be sound ads coming from other programs, like AIM

Or his computer is just amazied at how ugly his face is.
