It occurs to me that "Go fly a kite" is likely considered a much harsher expression of dismissal in Pakistan than in America or the U.K.

Actually, Flying Kites is a pretty historical event in Middle Eastern cultures (Iran, Iraq, Pakistan too I suppose).

Apparently, it's a bit of a contest. The sharpened kite strings are used to cut the kite strings of other kites, and the last kite left flying wins.

A lot of people in Pakistan are Arab, BTW.

And this happens every year. They try to chop the other kites down and they chop some kids head off and then say they were going to charge him for homosexuality anyway.
