i played bf 2142 for 3 hours yesterday. i had nothing else to do on a saturday.
when i stopped playing i felt like i had just wasted 3 hours yet i took a 2 hour nap and watched tv for a couple more and felt like i just had a relaxing afternoon.

does anyone else feel like they wasted time playing a video game when they could've been doing nothing instead?

If you do it for long periods of time, yeah, otherwise it's just another form of entertainment.

No. Because I don't play games as much as I used to, I in fact think that I'm not playing enough! :hax:

I have done yes, but I don't always waste time because it can be relaxing if its a kickass game.
nope.

I don't play games anymore. But yeah, I think they're a waste of time.

If I don't win, it was wasted :argh:

Depends on the game. If I play something terrible like CS:Source or DotA for a long time (Hey, for some reason I keep playing games like that) I get all pissed off that I wasted my time. However, if it's a good RPG or multiplayer game (That doesn't suck) then I think of it as having a good time. You might as well say that reading is a waste of time.

Not all the time. Sometimes I feel like I've wasted valuble sitting time, sometimes it feels like that was an hour well spent.

Voted yes.

I voted yes, but I just realized time spent posting on and browsing the internet is time far worse spent.

I am silly.

Well yes, it is a waste of time. But it is a WONDERFUL waste of time. :D

I don't believe it's possible to waste time that I would otherwise have spent not doing anything.

This is a philosophical question and there may be no correct answer.

The answer is yes.

The guitar now consumes virtually all of what would be my video game time. I like it that way.

Anything entertaining is a 'waste' of time where we could be out there building a house or feeding children. :psyduck:

I don't think this question really has any merit, now that I really think about it

Games are only a waste of time if they're an MMORPG. Otherwise, it's good fun.

I've been gaming more often than I have in a long time, though it's still probably about 4, or less hours a week when you get down to it. And I always feel fat afterward.

I think I can easily tell if I wasted a significantly large amount of time gaming when it hurts when I try to stand up.

I've played Twlight Princess for 40 hours and 30 mins right now, and I'm still chugging along doing all the side quests I can before I finish the game. I don't feel like I've wasted any time because the story is amazing and other than sleep or furiously masturbate , what else can I do at 3:00 am?
Think while it's still legal.

I hope that's not 40 hours straight.

After playing BF2142, I always feel like I've been wasting my time.

Not so with any other game.

I feel that way when I play any EA game.

Just in case anybody doesn't get our subtle jokes, EA is a terrible company and all of their games suck and the people who play their games in spite of how much they suck are dumb. And no they aren't going to fix their dumb, sucky game in a patch, they're just going to add more ingame billboards.
when i stopped playing i felt like i had just wasted 3 hours yet i took a 2 hour nap and watched tv for a couple more and felt like i just had a relaxing afternoon.
apart from playing EA games, I only feel like I'm wasting time when I sleep and watch TV. :colbert:
