No2 and Creatine
2007-04-01, 4:55 PM #1
Anybody ever used No2 or Creatine products?

I've used NO-Xplode and taken straight Creatine before.
I ordered some NO-Xplode and Cellmass from Amazon and it just got here today. I'm hoping I'll get the same results I did before.

Anyone used stuff like this before? What were the results if so?

It made my muscles bigger until I started to get dehydrated.

I never saw the point. I saw no strength gains, even though I looked better naked.

Maybe I wasn't training right.

Much to my horror when I saw I had posted the same thing 3 times!

Thanks to whoever deleted those..

Never used Creatine, just Protein shakes. I am planning on trying Creatine though.

I was under the impression creatine gave you abnormal hair growth. Which is pretty cool, but I'm just saying.

No, creatine doesn't really do anything bad. It dehydrates you a bit because it draws water into your muscles or something, but you just have to drink more water to make sure you're hydrated properly. I use it currently, and I'm not sure if it's helping much or not. All creatine is supposed to do is to help your muscles recover faster during a workout, it makes the energy get to the muscles more efficiently, so that you can work out harder. I couldn't tell you honestly if it's worth it or not, but as soon as this tub I'm using runs out, I'll stop for a week or two to see if there is a noticeable difference in much I'm able to push myself.

Creatine is an amino acid that your body synthesizes naturally. It's stored in the muscles which is why it makes your muscles look bigger when you take it. Your liver makes as much as your body needs, so all of the extra creatine you take is just used for energy.

Protein supplements don't actually help you bodybuild or strength train at all. Pretty much everybody who isn't in the business of foisting dubious supplements and health products agrees that the only time a human's protein requirements increase is when they're doing high-intensity cardio training. The body has all of the raw material it needs for regenerating muscle tissue, the only thing it needs more of is energy.

But this is a hurf durf :downswords: sugarpills are the cure for aids :downs: type of argument that I've already had on here before. The only complex organic molecules that'll help you grow muscle tissue faster are anabolic steroids, but some people will cling to anything they think gives them an edge.

That may be true. It's hard to tell the BS from the science in this area. That's why I figured I'd try it for myself. I'll tell you one thing for sure, the most important thing I've noticed, like you said, is just making sure you're getting enough energy to support your increased activity. I like taking some protein supplements to be sure I'm getting enough to support myself, my diet isn't always sufficient depending on the day. Eating right is tough here in school.

Creatine might be helpful with that but nowhere near as helpful as eating... well... food.

When you're exercising your body is using up ATP reserves in the muscles, muscular glycogen reserves and the liver glycogen store in that order. The first order of business is replenishing that energy supply which means you want to eat foods like protein (not amino acids) and complex carbohydrates. Amino acids are to protein as sugar is to complex carbohydrates.

Edit: Yes I know this is a gross overslimplification but people are really bad at micromanaging chemical intake. If you eat food you're getting everything you need. If you eat nutrients you aren't. Especially since, case in point, you're taking an amino acid the human body can make on its own instead of eating a well-rounded meal and getting amino acids the human body can't synthesize.

Well, I took the "New and Improved" NO-Xplode last night in conjuntion with a workout.

I don't know if it actually works or if it is the placebo aspect of it, but I felt like I could tear through a brick wall with my hands.

Honestly, I could barely do 10 pullups before taking it. Last night I did 23 from a freehang.
The most pushups I've ever done in one minute was 73, last night I managed 102.
Both exercises reached a benchmark.

Placebo, Legitimate endurance enhancer, I don't know but it sure as hell is working for me.

I usually just eat honey and peanut butter on nice homemade multi-grain bread.

It's like energy in a sandwich. Worked better for me than any supplements. Though I do consume protein shakes after I do the sprints that I do or I would be dead tired all the time. Plus it has a lot of calcium, and since I don't really consume a lot of dairy, I need to supplement that.

But the long and short of it is, if it comes in foil and makes my pee smell funny I probably don't want to put it in my body.

Haha. It's true, nothing works better than a peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat bread, with nuts. It is like delicious magic candy.

this is the only worthwhile time to supplement protein intake.

Truth. The only gain you'll see from using Creatine are those you "earn" because your body doesn't tire out as quickly.

Why is it so important for people to do OMGALOT OF PUSHUPS or whatever in a short amount of time?

Try doing slower push ups, pull ups, crunches, sit ups, whatever. You'll notice you're working alot harder, and you aren't spastically wasting all of your energy.

I do pushups alot now because I don't work with boxes directly at work as much anymore. There are a few different types. I usually do them with my feet up on a chair, not too many.

Right now I pretty much only push containers, so I don't do any leg work outs. My legs are super lean from work already, the only thing I really need to do is lose a little bit of excess body fat, which I'm pretty much already doing at work all summer.

The deal is that on the Army Physical Fitness Test you have 2 minutes to do as many pushups as you can. 42 is the minimum, but we're always in competition(sp?) to see who can do the most.

So far the record is 130 held by Captain Gallo.
But he's a Ranger, so It's expected...

42 push up in two minutes? That's easy. Last time I did a timed push up set, I did 55 in a minute.

42 pushups in 2 minutes in the standard for the 17-21 age group. It gets easier as you get older ;)

Our standard for situps is 53 in 2 minutes and 1554 on a two mile run.
It's not exactly the hardest PT test in the world, but people still fail it.

Correction. It gets easier to meet the minimum push up and sit up standards as you get older but you have to do more to meet the maximum standard. Until you get to be my age. Then you start going back down but my age group still has to do more than the 17-21 y/o to max.

Well, I finally got a chance to go to the Gym.
I took 2 scoops of NO-Xplode 30-35 minutes prior to going to the gym and I have to say, I am amazed.

I got on an Incline bench press and started doing sets, Not really even paying attention to how many sets of 15 I did.
I ended up taking a break after about 30 minutes of constant chest workage, Walked over to a mirror and I was just in awe. My chest had a bigger pump than I've EVER experienced before.

I will definately be buying more products from BSN.

I'm sorry but I'd just like to point out why I hate this saying. If it's new, nothing has come before it, but if it's improved, then a product must have come before it, therefore it isn't really new. What the hell is it?

:psyduck:
nope.

Have a friend swap it out with a scoop of sugar one day without telling you and see if you still get the same thing.

I'm willing to bet you'll feel exactly the same.
2007-04-07, 4:38 PM #30
No, he'll feel normal all the time then because he'll always be expecting sugar.
2007-04-07, 4:48 PM #31
The only pump there is to see here is water being held onto by the muscles.
