needs one of them online radio station things... I forgot where to get the stuff..but all I know is that it's free to do... just a thought... people send in requests to whomever DJ's..only thing is the DJ needs a mic and everyone needs Winamp to listen....

You're thinking of a Shoutcast station.
Heh, we had one about a year ago, hosted by El3ctro on britstorm, it was pretty fun DJing and all, but it's a lot of
work to maintain.

I used to do it.. I wouldn't mind hosting.. I'd just need to get all the stuff again..and someone needs to help me set it up :P after that I can "maintain" it.

Google for Shoutcast, and you should find something. Remember though, for every 32k (or somewhere around there) on your connection speed you can have one listener. So make sure your connection can handle it too. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

I don't think so. It might be for Shoutcast, but not for other services, I have a friend who has a radio station, and at it's hay-day, it had 65+ people listening, and he's got a standard DSL connection.

I wouldn't think shoutcast would be so far behind as to whore your connection that much, while other services do not.

I could physically do an hour DJ set if someone wants to host the server. I can only do a 6 person theater on shoutcast with my personal connection.

The problem is that you're going to be playing copyrighted music, you could get in trouble for it. Running it off someone's connection is going to be a pain too. If you want more than 5 listeners with good quality sound, get a server.

Take it from someone that's tried: No-one will listen.

Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here, this was my dream, my wish, and it didn't come true. So I'm takin' it back. I'm takin' 'em all back.
