Why don't you just make one thread titled "Miscellaneous questions about JK" and ask everything there, rather than spamming up the discussion forum?
2007-04-04, 9:07 PM #3

Oh. I didn't notice all the other JK questions before I posted that...

JK coop sucks.

I would find a copy of Half-Life and install SvenCOOP.

More people play it, and it's a ****load more fun than anything that ever came from JK.

You can get all the JK single player levels for multiplayer:

Jedi Knight Co-op.

Beta 20 is the most recent version.

Yes, you can play all through the JK game together with other players, as a team, starting at any level you like.

You probably need to configure your firewall and/or router properly.

I would tell you which ports to open on your firewall, but the page I always get that information from is on a site that went down recently. I'll have to see if I saved the information somewhere.

If you have a router, you'll need to open the following ports to play JK:

Port 47624 (TCP/UDP) and Ports 2300 - 2400 (TCP/UDP)

i got jedi knight working over lan but does anyone know very hard levels with coop.
2007-04-05, 5:05 PM #18
actully what i mean is good levels like where you fight dark jedi or hard
2007-04-05, 5:18 PM #19
Fighting dark jedi AI in JK is something that -to my knowledge- hasn't been successfully achieved yet. The co-op levels mentioned in this thread are the best ones out there.

As you can read on the Jedi Knight Co-op page I linked to earlier, Shred has been working on making Jedi AI work in MP, and he seems to have made progress:

Quote:

I'm using a new method for getting the Dark Jedi AI in the levels, which allows me to use all the existing pathfinding cogs and scripted behaviors. Even the intro cutscenes work now!

The only hitch is, Certain cogs need changes to work properly in multiplayer... That, and the darkjedi ai is so specialized for single player it is useless for these purposes. Luckily I was able to incorporate the movement code from my original darkjedi cog when pathfinding isn't needed.

The conversion Of Jerec's battle is going smoothly!

ok dint know that. but does anyone know any fun coop levels ive searched massassi.net didnt find that much wondering if anyone knows some more websites.
2007-04-06, 12:13 AM #21
Besides the project on the hub converting the SP levels to MP CooP, i think there are only 2 CooP for JK and 2 for MotS. They were linked to earlier in the thread.

i decided to try to make my own levels but my problem is all the bots disapear when i switch the game to multiplayer how do i play with bots on multiplayer?
2007-04-07, 1:19 PM #23
anyone know how to get stormtroopers to show up on mutipayer?
2007-04-07, 1:25 PM #24
Its a problem with Jedi Knights engine.
MoTS can handle it though i think.
Wait...
You went from asking where to get levels... To making them?
2007-04-07, 2:57 PM #25
tried mots still doesnt work
2007-04-07, 3:10 PM #26
You need special cogs.

But like I said, you should probably go with half-life.
2007-04-07, 3:43 PM #27
which cogs do i need?

Yes it does, you just have to click on one of the nav points at the upper left. (Add-ons and projects are the two you will want to check) Then search boxes appear at the bottom of the page. Not very intuitive, I know. (Zeq you reading this? Put a big honkin' search box at the top of every page man! :v:)

I don't this many people around here are going to be of much help (we all moved on from JK editing a loooong time ago). But you can always try opening up existing co-op levels in JED to see how the cogs in them work... just remember if you copy cogs, or anything else from other levels, you'll need to ask permission from the original authors to use them if you plan on uploading the levels onto the internet.

Or they could ban you.

For every post you make is an admission of how stupid and annoying you are.

If being annoying and stupid was against the rules 50% of massassi wouldn't exist.
