Binomial Theorem

What's the point of the Binomial Theorem when you have the Pascal's Triangle?
My teacher gave us 40 problems to do using the Binomial Theorem showing ALL work. :argh: And each problem has a minimum of a 5th exponent...Mindless work

you don't understand either of these things

Expand for me this: (2x + 6p)[sup]37[/sup].

Or

Expand (5t + 9)[sup]5[/sup] as a binomial series and show that it converges or diverges.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

It's used a lot in probability and power series. Or at least, I think it is. I haven't touched it in a few years.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Okay, expand for me:

(1+x^2)^-0.5

Your triangle won't save you now!

Yeah, I'd forgotten about that sort of thing too. Otherwise Warlockmish, quit *****ing it's easy.
nope.

Me hated series.

All series bad.

(I just never liked that area of maths - it smelled slightly of wee to me)

Oooooh EDIT!

Apart from McSpansions - they were coolio.

Maths? Never good at it. The only maths I was good at was Circumferences, Pythagoras Therom and Angles (it inolves the use of calculators and drawing -you cant divide or mulitply pi (3.142) in your head). Despite that I have GCSE grade C. No really to this day its a fluke :) Speaking of which maths was the evil I encounted when I started my new job. I find maths boring :)

Sincere appologies for adding this comment
