It was no Barons Head RPG or Purgatory...

I like it. It may not have been the prettiest thing ever, but it got the point across. Most importantly, it was quite fun.

Yep.

It was a good map for late night KWP matches, but there were some maps that were just so much better. I can name off a bunch.

Of course, I was more into the RPing aspect of JK, one of the only first person shooters that had a good mapping community for role playing. JA is terrible in comparison, I think, despite the more powerful engine and such. Plus, some of the RP maps for JK had the best looking visuals out of all the maps. SMHQ, DotR Hideaway and SC inc come to mind right off the bat.

Can't forget the good times with the copy/delte gun. Making your own rooms in places like Caesar's Palace and Dralloc Hotel + Casino was a blast.

Memories :)

I thought it was really lame for how popular it was.

I loved it. Back then, getting crushed by the speeder on the landing pad was the funniest thing in the world :neckbeard:

It was okay. Not really my kind of ambience for roleplaying, but it was good for goofing off. I had more fun in Dralloc H&C and SC Inc

The Best JK level.

At least in my book.

I'll be fair, I thought Caesars Palace was the best for RPing in JK, especially when you got a nice group to play with, and everybody didn't want to be Jedi or whatever. A close second would be Barons Hed.

JHS was good for late night SBX matches. Those were fun. But back in 2000, late night for me was like 9 pm :v:

Rolling Mod > All

JHS was great for its time, because it was fast, popular, and fun. The only annoying thing was the bloody transport outside that would drop you 50% of the time.

Yeah.

With so many decent maps out there it was pretty frustrating to get into zone and find out that all of like 6 hosted SBX games were @jhs.

:argh:

Not to mention the fact that you couldn't even do a decent saberduel on the platform because the sector it was sitting in was flagged as 'pit', which meant that if you hit Forcejump and fell down too big of a distance too fast, the game would fade you even before landing on the platform. (Causing you to 'fall through')

h8 h8 h8

People were basically hosting saber games at jhs because there were powerups all over the place.

On top of that, it's just the fugliest level out there, and the theme is the lamest thing I can think of.

That map only got popularity because zoners were stupid and thought anything was cool. From a flow point of view, it was horrible... dead ends and bad weapon placement. The texturing was an eyesore at best, and the cogging was meh. 2 thumbs down. There's quite a few maps that came out in that same period that were far superior.

That was always my favorite level.

It was simple, small, and a blast to play. :)

Everybody knows Yoda's House is the best JK map ever. :psyduck:

Eh, visually, Jedi High School was plain, but it was fun to play with a few friends at any rate. =D

But indeed, there were better maps out there, both in looks and gameplay terms.

I don't think it made for very good deathmatches. As Blood Asp said, it didn't flow well.

Well, it's wasn't very good architecturally, nor was it very impressive from a level-flow standpoint. But it was a heck of a lot of fun.

I never liked it that much. Barons Hed RPG and Drazen Isle were my two favorites, though Drazen had a tendency to get broken when I played on the Zone. Definitely two of the greatest technical achievements in JK MP, and quality presentation as well.

I never liked it because of it's possible connection with school shootings. Not saying that people that like JHS are practicing for a rampage.

Plus, I like single-player levels better.

I enjoyed it. Probably one of the ugliest, boxiest levels I ever played, but damn it it wasn't fun! Especially with one particular mod (forget what it was called) that including a grappling hook. Haha.....half a dozen players swinging around like monkeys on invisible vines in the outside area while blasting the hell out of each other with concussion rifles, railguns, and force destruction blasts...it didn't get much better than that :v:

Newbie. There is a reason why "Yoda's House" can't be found here at Massassi.

I can remember many fun games in JHS, but it was far from my favorite map. Minoen and I used to play for HOURS with other people in Drazen Isle. It's just so big, and the secrets are fantastic. :)

This is some of the worst logic I've ever heard.

So let me guess, you never played Half-Life because of the connection with shooting aliens? I mean, aliens might be good guys in real life.
2007-04-18, 2:14 AM #36
I used to play JHS with with the Goldeneye mod or *WP. Wasn't really good for sbx, imo.

And didn't JK pretty much wane in popularity even before Columbine?

Were you the Massassian who attended Columbine?

I agree with Cool Matty... rolling mod is the most fun I ever had with JK.
