Basically, here's the new news:

Game and Watch
Ice Climbers
Young Link

are gone.

Bowser Jr.
Wind Waker Link
RIDLEY (from Metroid!)

replace them.

IN ADDITION, the current "clones" such as Falco will be getting an overhaul of their moves to make them more unique, and there will be approximately 40 characters in the game.

OWNAGE.

Awesomeness. I'm glad they are making the characters even more unique. Will require more mastery of them.

And I'm fine with the replacements. Never liked ice climbers.

It's kinda hard to not proclaim it.

Every SSB game has been progressively about 200% more awesome than the last.



Bottom line;

These games are fun as **** to play. Easy to pick up, difficult to master. And they present entirely unrealistic and impossible scenarios. You know, that thing that was the very basis of video games to begin with.

They need to add Sonic. Because a fight between Mario, Sonic, Link, and Samus would be EPIC.

I'm pretty sure after reading the thread (on their site) that this is false news.

Also, playing as Ridley... awesome, yes, but I doubt that will ever come to fruition. I'll wait for a more reputable source...

...same goes for the recent Starcraft 2 rumors. Beta out at the end of the year my behind.

As long as they don't touch fox, I'm happy. They kinda nerfed him in melee though... I hope they bring him back up to par in brawl

Starcraft 2 rumors seem legit, but we'll have to see.

I'm honestly more excited about the SC2 rumors than I am about SSB. If SC2 DOES have a beta out by the end of the year, I'm giving my machine a HELL of an overhaul to play it.

I was under the impression it was from IGN Aussie's crew, not from just some random people on their forum. Either way I couldn't see for sure because I don't have an insider acct.

To be fair, the Ice Climbers weren't terrible, you just had to learn how to use them.

They should have kept ice climbers. They were the most unique character in a fighting game ever, at least gameplay wise.

No, IGN was just reporting what these people on some forum translated from some Korean forum, and the entire internet picked it up because we're desperate.

Nothing about it on IGN inside account, but the forums are a buzz. Apparently the new characters are being revealed via magazine next week.

"Up to par" would be nerfing the guy again. He's way too overpowered if you ask me.

YAY FOR UPDATED FALCO.

Now, just get rid of Ganon and put Captain Falcon back. If they do that, then that decides which next-gen console I'm getting.

The same as having Young Link in SSBM, except more different.

Geno only has a stupid arm gun, and a beam that is HUGE, but does NO DAMAGE. :colbert:

Which of course, was useless against the monsters that mattered, like bosses.

Mallow could rape everyone at once, Geno would be lucky to take out one guy (after standing there for 4 seconds). He'd just be a stupid Samus ripoff.
