Super Paper Mario

So far, this game is really good. I think I like Thousand Year Door more (it was my favorite cube game, and one of my favorites of all time.), but so far the game is really good. The RPG elements work really well, the humor is really great, but the game seems to be missing the same depth and character development that the other Paper Mario games had. That aside, I still consider this a must-have Wii title. I'm on chapter 5-4, and about 10 hours in to the game. Anyone else own this game?

Oh, also, this had me laughing so hard I almost cried.

My copy came in the mail yesterday. The nerd's fort was awesome, especially the subtle jabs. "I'll order my copy of the complete DVD collection and whine about how much it sucks onlnie while I'm waiting for it."

It's probably the best Wii game out now, except for The Godfather and Zelda.

Played it at work for a bit, it's damn good fun.
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

Oh yeah! And that too.

The cool thing about RE4 wii is that it'll have all of the things that the PS2 version had. But with better graphics, and cutscenes that are rendered real time like on Gamecube.

Yeah, I've never played Paper Mario before. What is the difference?

It's not like Super Mario World. Super Paper Mario is more like Paper Mario than it is like a traditional Mario game -- the major difference is that the "battles" are now just action, instead of the turn-based seperate encounters.

Paper Mario is an RPG, similar to Final Fantasy. In Paper Mario (particularly the Gamecube one), however, the turn-based environment is used well as the encoutners feel like "staged" retellings (the "battle screen" makes your environment look like a stage, and in the Gamecube version, you have an audience that can affect your battle).

The Gamecube game, in particular, had a really good, fun and funny story to match the gameplay.

Paper Mario and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door are RPG's with a lot of hilarious text based dialouge and great stories. The games focus on the fact that the characters are 2D and a lot of the cutscenes and fights in the game use that to their advantage. The Paper Mario games like to poke fun at themselves by referencing older nintendo games and history. Super Paper Mario is a sidescrolling adventure that has everything the other Paper Mario games had except it isn't turn based fighting, it's simply running through levels and solving puzzles. Except in Super Paper Mario you can turn 3D and see the old-skool side scrolling levels from another view.

My problem is the insane amount of dialogue that really kills the flow of the game
"His Will Was Set, And Only Death Would Break It"

"None knows what the new day shall bring him"

Anyone tried SSX Blur yet? That one has me interested, I loved SSX Tricky and SSX On Tour (didn't much like SSX3 though).

I couldn't get used to the controls. then again, I played it for about 25 minutes, so I'm sure that you can get used to them over time. From what I hear, either people love 'em or hate 'em
