So I'm going to be working on a Flash project for my one art class. I have the actual components down, but I need help on the key thematic component of my project.
ASSIGNMENT:[/b]
The project requires that I use video(s) and rotoscope in some fashion to create an interactive experience.
IDEA[/b]
My idea is that I will take a statement that expresses something that can be filmed -- something short (5-10 seconds at most). An example being "The ball bounced in the hallway."
First, I would film the actual event, and rotoscope that (note that the rotoscoping can be VERY primitive -- the ball bouncing could be just a dot, for example).
Then, I would film other means of communicating the same idea (filming myself writing "The ball bounced in the hallway" and typing "The ball bounced in the hallway" and saying "The ball bounced in the hallway" etc.) and rotocscope them.
The final product would have a single screen, where clicking on buttons (or a symbol, or whatnot) would play these different parts. Ideally, something new is expressed in the slight variations of expressing the same idea.
THE PROBLEM[/b]
I need an event that is not only more interesting than "The ball bounced in the hallway" but more ideally meaningful, as in something in which the context changes in some way by the different means of communicating the event.
Also, any suggestions on other means of communicating an idea would be grateful. So far, I have literally showing the event, writing, typing, speaking, and sign language.
Thanks for any help you can give, as always!
