Was thinking about getting a tablet (eg wacom) to up my artwork options. anyone have one of these? any reccomendations?

I don't but one of my classmates in my basic design class uses one with her laptop in class. It looks pretty slick and she said it cost her about $250 for it. I'm not sure what brand it was so I can't give a recommendation.

I have a Graphire3 6x8. It's rather nice. Get at least 6x8 or don't bother. The Intuous line offers fancy stuff like tilt and rotation detection, higher resolution, etc, the Graphire just has pressure.

If you seriously want to get into digital artwork, then get at least a 6x8 Intuous. If it's just for fun or hobby, a Graphire is fine.

I've used a small one (4x6) for years and it has never bothered me. Get a Wacom, the others suck.

Wacom is very nice.

I also agree with Emon/landfish. You should avoid the 4x5 as much as possible. It's just frustratingly small.

I have a 4x6 and I've used a larger one once. It was nicer, but I didn't notice that much of a difference. Thats just me though.
