Yeah, my girlfriend unexpectedly broke up with me over the phone last night. It really sucks, because I really liked the relationship a lot. Have any of you had any hard breakups in the past?

last autumn i broke up with my ex, after 4 years. we lived together and stuff. She had this new 'just friend' who she spent time with more than with me. One day i got tired of it, told her i'm breaking up, and take just the beds, tv, xbox and computer, rest of the stuff she can have. Later i took my dog too.

It wasn't really as hard as i could've expected. Now i have a new gf, and things are looking a lot better. When i look back, the only thing i regret is not breaking up earlier.

If she broke up with you over the phone, she's a callous *****. It's probably for the best, because if she's willing to do that, she was not as into being together as you were. And that's no good way to be. Because the more one-sided things get, the more strained the person carrying all the weight gets.

All you can do is cut your losses and hope the next girl that comes around will have the balls to break up with you face-to-face.

Yeah, I had a hard breakup once.

It was only for a few weeks though. By then my wrist healed and we're happily back together.

Worst breakup I ever had was the 'I've met someone else' breakup. There's one way to make you feel like utter **** for a good 2-3 months.

Tor was ma woman for almost a year, then we broke up new year 2006. Then she asked for me back April 06. Then she was my woman for almost a year, then i broke up with her in january 2007. Then I asked for her back March 07. So far she says No.

I got a lot of changes to make before I'll get her back, if I ever do.

Same. Except it was more like "I don't think this is working out" (one week passes) "I'm going out with ______ now."

Uh, if you keep breaking up, you might want to stop wasting your time with her. Especially if she says she doesn't want to get together again. There's no point in returning to exes, it's just heartbreak and stress. Looks like she figured that out, might as well hop on the bandwagon. You can get over her, but it looks like you're not going to let yourself.

I broke up with my last girlfriend because she was a complete mommy's girl. If her mom told her to jump off a bridge, she literally would have. because he mom was all knowing and such in her mind. She still wanted to be friends. I said no and haven't talked to her since. Nor will I ever.

The last time I had a breakup with a serious girl we continued ****ing for about six months afterwards, so nah... but that did teach me how to enter a relationship properly... go for the sex, stay for the sandwich.

No breakups yet.. Had a girlfriend for around 4 months now. I like to imagine myself never breaking up, but I know that the chances of that are very low.

When it happened to me it was a "It seems like something is missing" over instant message after about 5 months. That's the only reason I got for it too. Hardest time of my life. Vowed to never speak to her again, too painful.

No woman that has an ounce of respect for you would end it over the telephone. I once had a girl try to end it over the phone and when I suspected that the conversation was going in that direction, I told her that if she didn't have enough respect for me to do it to my face, I didn't want to talk with her on the phone long enough to even let her finish what she had to say. Then I hung up. She then came over and we've been together since.
