Moments of Pure :awesome:

We all have them. The moment where everything comes together in a serenity of function, form, and bliss despite only moments earlier everything was seemingly going to fall utterly apart. I had such a moment earlier today at the Carlsbad Driving Range.

Here I am practicing my golf swing. I'm hitting the ball so-so with my 7-iron. Some go straight, some go far, some go straight and far. But for the most part I have this most annoying push to the ball. Damn thing wants to hook to the left. The last few shots go reasonably well. After the bout with the 7-iron, I decided to work on the short game. After a few chip shots, I feel quite comfortable with that to move on. So out come the woods. I start with my 5-wood. Oh God am I hitting the ball like crap. **** shots, shots to the left, shots to the right, shots not more than 30 yds away. I figure out my swing problem. I'm hitting the ball "fat" meaning I strike the ground before I hit the ball. So I step back, I take a few practice swings. I tell myself, "Let the club just graze the surface. Juuust on the surface. Juuust like that." I know, I'm odd when I'm golfing. So I put a ball ready to hit and take my stance. I clear my mind and just begin my swing. In mere moments, SCHWACK! In that moment, everything seemed to just click into place. I'm 97% sure I crushed that ball 200+ yds straight and true. That was my moment of :awesome:

What are your moments of awesome where everything alllll came together?
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I've always wanted to get into golf.. but I don't know anyone that plays and I don't think I can afford everything you need to play. :(

Earlier while playing FEAR MP I pulled an emon and killed 5 people in a cluster**** with melee moves.

Then I got shotgunned in the face. It was EPIC.

Tonight was the 2nd annual 'Ted Fest' Battle of the Bands. The band that I used to be in won it last year, and right after we won we broke up because stuff wasn't working out. I wasn't going to show up at Ted Fest tonight, just because I didn't care for any of the bands playing, but I dragged myself down there anyway. It just so happens that my old drummer, guitarist, and vocalist also showed up to watch the show. I hadn't seen any of these people for a full year, and suddenly a kid comes up to us and goes 'We aren't having a judging at the end of Ted Fest because a lot of bands have to leave so we have some free time, do you guys want to play?' and we thought it would be impossible, we didn't have any instruments or anything. The guy tells us we had till 11pm, it was 8pm. So We all pack into my car, get a drumset, amps, guitars, bass, etc. and get back to the place around 10pm. Amazingly we all remembered how to play a bunch of our songs except the vocalist forgot how to sing our most awesome song. I wrote the song so I knew the vocals. I taught our vocalist the bass to the song really quick, and we went on stage and I sang the song and he played bass, then we switched off and I played bass for the rest of the songs.

It was AWESOME. We hadn't seen each other for a full year, and just because we were all in the right place at the right time we got to play at a show tonight. It was a great feeling.
Think while it's still legal.

One of one of my awesome days was on Christmas Day (the 2006 one) which was something that perhaps might sum me up. The day I can recall was marred by poor familial problems when my grandparents did not buy me a Christmas present (honestly I could not care at all, cause I had everything I wanted). Despite the fact my parents had bought me a new laptop computer, and that was awesome enough, but it was the present from my uncle which please me the most. It is quite silly and daft, but I was simply thrilled with the fact that there two presents a) a copy of Frank Herbert's final Dune novel - Chapterhouse Dune and b) a CD album which was Type O Negative's 'Least Worst Of' and album that I could not find anywhere at all.

Honestly I happy that I had this CD, I was more with that than despite I had a new laptop computer, books and clothes. And there's happy old me with a CD. Still baffled now to why this is so awesome and dear lord why was I smiling so much? That was one of my moments of :awesome:

But speaking of awesome, I been at my new workplace for 4 weeks and thats completely :awesome: cause I've got less time to be bored. Another side effect is that Im posing more frequently then I ever have. Suppose that's :awesome: too.

Riots. That's one thing that we don't have enough of here in the US. :(

Four kills with four shells. Nothing is as awesome as a shotgun rampage in gears of war.
Wikissassi sucks.

Yeah, just police with pent up rage that need to find another outlet.

Haha Utah raves, yayz!

I had a friend who was at that one, she said it was hilarious watching some of the cops try to stop kids from leaving.

She said so, but she has been known to overdramatize things.

When it happened, KSL said there was one CS grenade and someone got pushed over, more or less.

It mostly seemed like they were just there to unplug the sound system.

Have you ever been to a party that fills up an entire valley in the mountains?

****ing awesome, especially when it gets misty, and the lights are all around, and you can sneak off into the forest with...

Heh...

I was playing Team Fortress, two on two with my friends Ian, Matt and Tom. It was me and Tom against Ian and Matt. I forget what classes they were playing, but I was a spy.
Ian was chasing me down with a machine gun, and I got cornered in a room, so I feigned death. They weren't familure with the game so he just turned around and walks out to find Tom assuming I'm actually dead. We were playing in a reasonably small room so I could hear Ian and Matt trying to co-ordinate themselves to get Tom.
I disguised myself as Ian's class, and started hunting Matt. While closing in on my kill, there was a beautiful moment of serendipity where Ian said "I'm coming in now" just as I walked into the same room as Matt, while Ian was actually a room or two away. I casually walked up to Matt and shotgun'd him in the face. Then I walked into the room where Ian was and shot him in the face.
It wasn't until a good 10 or 15 minutes later that they started to catch on to what I was doing. Good times.
