...two dead boys came out to fight. Back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other.

Why is this illegal? If anything, they were doing each other a favor.

I don't think dueling should be illegal. But hey, if we had it my way those sentenced to death will be fighting in gladiator arenas right now instead of dying by getting injections.

Umm.. This is a bit rediculous though.

My stupid neighbor's making a bunch of noise. I'm gonna shoot and kill him.

How is that sane?
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

As far as I know dueling is legal in Maryland under certain circumstances.

I think dueling should be legal. I don't see why not. If someone is gonna murder someone, they are gonna murder them regardless. But if you want to duel someone, you have to follow the dueling code, and of course the other party has the right to decline. In my opinion, I think a duel kind of presents people with an opportunity cost. Like, you have to be willing to pay the ultimate price (your life) in order to do it.

If Johnnie Cochran was alive today, he could have gotten the dude off on self-defense.

In one of those obscure laws posts, I believe it was mentioned that it is legal to duel in New Mexico as long as both parties are registered blood donors.

Because duelling is consentual. If you challenged your noisy neighbour to a duel he can say, "um.. no."

But then you could call him a "COWARD AND A BLACKGUARD".

Suicide is illegal, too.

I guess it's because you deprive the state of another tax payer.

I wonder if there are any countries in the world left where dueling would be legal.

According to Wiki, it's legal in Paraguay as long as both duelists are organ donors.

No, suicide is illegal so if you fail/are stopped, you can be arrested for your own protection.

Someone should sodomise John Higgins quickly before he knocks Ronnie O'Sullivan out of the World Championship. :(
