So queer that so many people caught up in scandals fight till the bitter end until it is found that they are gay. Then they resign in humiliation. Most of what these people (politicians, corporate moguls, etc) do is far more morally questionable than their sexual preference.

Hmmmm... I don't know about your use of the terms "gay" and "queer" but maybe it's just me...

Meh... whatever.

Hahah, nice pun with the "so queer".

But obviously, you don't realize that gay people just don't make good corporate executives (I'm joking here, for the few of you who would've taken it literally)

Well my use of "gay" is quite obviously a pun and my use of "queer" is used perfectly in the literal sense and also works as a pun. Only those looking to be offended would have any problem with anything I typed and I guarantee they won't be homosexuals.

What a sick and sad world we live in, where an OIL TYCOON is ousted over where he likes to put his penis and not the ethics of his business.

Because they aren't nearly as open-minded as many people like to think?

Meh. Some of us are, some aren't. If the MOD had found out Alan Turning was gay when he was working at Bletchley Park in the Second World War the Allies would have probably lost the law.

Right, it's just that I see a lot of Americans and Europeans who think that Europe is some utopia of understanding and acceptance.

Europe is a Utopia of understanding and acceptance compared to the US.

The most popular person in Britain is gay, I'm obviously referring to Stephen Fry.

Maybe regarding homosexuality, but it's been my experience that racial bigotry is much more accepted in parts of Western Europe than it is in the U.S.

Parts is the key.

The U.S. is about as big as Europe and there are "parts" of the U.S. where racial bigotry is accepted too.

Put it this way: Even if the U.S. had proportional representation, I'd be surprised if an unabashedly racist political party like the Dansk Folkparti here in Denmark could even survive in the U.S., much less enjoy the kind of success that the DF has had.

Sure, both the U.S. and Europe have their pockets of racism, but I think the difference is in how violently the U.S. mainstream reacts against racism. I haven't seen that at all here..

We're still in our civil rights movement era.

Wait about 50-100 years, everyone that cares will be dead. Everyone will chill.

And it'll be okay to hate people with different skin. Again.

I'm just a little bit annoyed that Europeans always get to act surprised and shocked whenever there's racism there, while everybody seems to think that the United States is a hotbed of intolerance when it's more of a local thing.

That's racist against Europeans!

Quick lads! Lets tie him to the back of my pickup truck and drive really fast round the city!

<.<

(But really, most of us Europeans do understand that most of the U.S. is tolerant, but just like Europe it has its black spots (If you'll pardon the pun) where racism isn't just tolerated; it's normal)
