At least thats what happened to Matt Boyd of MacHall fame.

anyone else think this is a stupid reason to lose your job and then get questioned by the police?

He's not really sad.

Lookit his face!

But yeah. I'd known he was fired, since I followed MacHall and now 3PS religiously. Didn't know about the police thing, though.

I doubt the reason given in the link for his firing is accurate and I don't really see a problem with police erring on the side of caution and questioning him especially when you consider the fact that somebody obviously contacted them. The police simply cannot afford the liability of not investigating these sort of allegations.

Yeah, but the burgers are tasty.

Interestingly, what makes me the most angry out of all of this is the use of the word "terroristic". It sounds like a perfect example of Orwellian bastardization of words to create fear and whatnot without having any specific meaning.

Well, if Bush and the justice dept. get their way, he can now never buy that gun he wanted. Because now he's a "terror suspect" and they want to make it so no "terror suspect" can get a gun:

You should go to work for the liberal media. THEY are supporting a democrat measure. So if the democrats get their way the administration will have that power. Any administration. And who says he's a terror suspect? I would suggest you quit trying to pander to the anti-bush liberals here by playing the anti-bush, conservative card.

Wait- what?
2007-05-06, 1:06 PM #23
I hate liberals, and I hate conservatives. I hate anyone who tries to restrict our freedom. The guy in the original post probably isn't on the terrorist watch list, but tons of people flying on planes have been caught inadvertantly because their names or faces were similar to those on terrorist watch lists. It's all a load of crap and freaking americans need to stop being so afraid of every damn thing that they sign every last fakking freedom away to the government. Seriously. The guy talked about buying a 22. He commented on the fact that he felt comfortable with it because it was hard to accidentally kill someone with a 22. Someone got scared and called the cops. He got fired from his job and visited by a bunch of detectives. Give me a break.
2007-05-06, 1:20 PM #24
I'm not going to give you any break. If you hate people who will restrict freedoms then fine. You hate everybody. Certain freedoms equal anarchy. But this isn't about that. It is about you saying that you can thank the Bush administration for a Democrat gun control measure which is intellectually dishonest.

Thank you Wookie for calling people out who just like to bash Bush who really have no clue what they are talking about. If you do, that's fine, but obviously someone is misinformed here

Just so you know, you don't have to pick one political party and mindlessly support and justify everything it and all of it's members do to be intellectually honest.

Well, he said he hates whoever did it, so I'm sure he would have no problem revoking his previous correlation of the law with Bush in particular. No need to get your panties in a wad. The already tarnished image of the Republican party will not be tarnished further by Brian's small mistake.

Nonsense. A liberal stance could be to make all guns illegal. That would take away the freedom to own guns.

And also the freedom to do anything without a bunch of worthless bureaucracy and oversight (although you can't get that freedom from ANY major party in the U.S. anymore. Both parties are all about increasing the size of the government now).

You can own a gun. But you need a very valid reason for it and have to jump through a million beaurocratic hoops to get one. Shotguns are less controlled, though, but it's limited to three-round capacity max.

Apparently.

From what I can tell it means about all you can get easily are double-barelled shotguns.
