So, apparently, Mizzou has designed a page that allowed a SQL injection attack, allowing them to get SSNs and names of about 23,000 student employees in the year 2004 - myself being among them. So now I get to watch my credit history for the next few months!

Gooooooo Mizzou!

What's even better? Mizzou didn't advertise this at all. I found out from my friend at Rolla.

Lost mine too, today, along with my wallet.

:(
2007-05-09, 9:35 PM #9
You're not supposed to keep it in your wallet.
2007-05-09, 10:28 PM #10
Seriously.

What kind of dumbass carries their social security card around in their wallet?
2007-05-09, 10:31 PM #11
At work I'm in charge of lost wallets (we get about 1 per day). About half of them have social security cards in them.

You should post them on the internet.

But I bet you'll get DMCA'd. :P

We were told in drivers ed that we were supposed to carry our social security card with us at all times as a form of identification. Hence a wallet, not to mention the SSN card is the size of a credit card.
2007-05-10, 12:09 AM #14
Except on your SS card it says not to carry it with you.

That seriously sounds like you're making it up to defend inane stupidity.

I don't understand why the card itself need to be carried around in a wallet...

I understand it pretty much became a form of ID, seeing that when I turn old, I doubt I will get much money out of social security.

You should find a way to sue Mizzou, Wolfy.

I'm not joking, we were told on the first day of drivers ed that our social security card is always supposed to be on our person because it is a form of identification in case of an accident.

As opposed to your drivers license?

I've got mine memorized, but I carry it in my wallet on a slip of paper disguised as a phone number.

On the card it says to "keep it in a safe place". I wouldn't think of my wallet as a safe place, but apparently some people do. O_o

I always keep mine on me, because I lose crap if I don't. Except for my birth certificate (which I'm about 80% sure of the location as of this moment.) It's also another reason I keep my wallet on a chain.

I never carry it around with me, however a few days ago I was asked to bring it to work, seeing as I just started the job. I never put it back in my file when I got home.

Turns out I misremembered - I started working in 2005, thankfully. However, my friend is keeping an eye on his credit for the next couple years and is keeping a couple of lawyers' numbers on-hand just in case.
