won't start.

I think I need a new battery.

:(
Have to be at work in less than an hour. Was going to go in eary for OT... Can't go. Don't have money to buy a new battery until Friday. No one near by to give me a jump. Depressed.

My boss is coming to get me. (I start at 7:30, he starts at 8. So I'll be a bit late... And won't get the OT that I wanted, but at least I'll make it to work.)

Anyway, have a good day guys. I'll be out of here in a few minutes.

Whew, home from a rousing day at work. Ended up working 8am to 8pm, so I still got in the overtime. :)

Now I just gotta make it to work tomorrow, then I can get a new battery this weekend.

If your car ran on french fries you wouldn't have this problem.

Indeed that is true.

So anyway, it is now 4am. I am waiting for my boss to call. Being awake at this ungodly hour is rediculous.

And I'll probably work something like 5am - 5pm today. Then get whoever I ride home with drop me off at Shucks... Pick up a battery, and walk home (not too far, about a mile) from Shucks carrying said battery.

God I hate not having a car. :(

Awesome, someone else rockin; the '92 Explorer. That was my first car...the transmission gave out a few years ago. The interior was falling apart too...you must take decent care of your car. Have you plowed it into anything yet? It's a tank.

I haven't personally. One of the previous owners put a dent in the front fender though.

And the tranny's been replaced already... It leaks a bit though, so I have to pour in some tranny fluid every... couple months or so. And the driver's side seat leather's torn up a bit. Rest of the interior's in great shape, though it needs to be detailed.

Ford transmissions are horrible, engines are usually solid though. I had a 96 Explorer Eddie Bower Edition back a couple years ago. Had to replace the transmission at 200k miles, but it ran strong till 250k miles when I sold it. It's at 280k now... (sold to a friend who still drives the thing)

lol if it weren't for the fact that yours was an '96 Eddie Bauer Edition, I'd think I was your friend.

Same story.

Yeah so get your battery checked, sometimes even though they don't have a charge, it's not the battery's fault but rather the alternator isn't charging properly. So you can get a new battery, everything will seem alright for a while, till it dies again and won't restart because the new one isn't getting a charge either. Most places that sell car batteries have a battery checker.

Yea for '92!

I'm driving a '92 Jeep Cherokee.

K, got the battery. Glad I didn't have to walk home with it. Weighs like 80 lbs.

And Brian, yeah. I'm hoping it's not the alternator.. (which I replaced less than a year ago) but I will get the old battery tested just to be sure.

Either way, I got a 84 month warrenty (2 years free replacement, after that it depends on the condition of the battery I guess or somesuch).

Usually after the "free" period they prorate it based on the time used compared to the time of warranty. So if the battery is 50 bucks and warranted for 5 years it's 10 bucks a year.

Bah, ford transmission isn't that bad. At least not with euro-fords. I'm loving my '95 Mondeo 1.8TD :v:

Yeah, Brian that sounds like what the guy said.

Anyway, new battery's in.. On my way back to Schucks to get the core.. I'll have them test the old battery while I'm there.
