http://www.thisisyork.co.uk/york/archive/2004/07/19/york_news_local18ZM.html

The first link is about a pair of double murders in my area - unheard of in my 21 years living in York, let alone the next village across from mine!

The second link is about the fact that someone put half a pig carcass up a telegraph pole on the end of my street! It was taken down before I saw it!

Just felt the need to share these with Massassi.

How big is Oakland? You can walk across my little subburb in about ten mins, end to end, the same for strensall (where the two old poeple were murdered). It's just scary that this could happen in a teeny tiny place like this...

I live in a smallish town (only about 3000 people), so when a triple homicide took place about 3-4 blocks away from my house, I got a little freaked out.

Yea, there was a double homicide in my neighborhood. Whoever did it also shot their dog.

yeah this is all over the news over here, just released a picture of the guy they are after....

on another news note...

during the weekend at the place i work during the summer, some guys handcufed two security guards, knocking one of them out with a cricket bat (imagine baseball but much wider and heavy....better yet see here...), while crashing a lorry through the security barriers, then they proceded to break into one of the many warehouses (well, old air field hangers) and then stole over 20,000 brand new mobile phones....all good fun [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

wasn't in the building i work, shame, (they built a special new one for us [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif], needed to really because we repair the phones, can't really do that in an old hanger)....bugger really because they closed the other place down while they repair it and everyone is away on full pay till they finish [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I heard someone say once that the world is a fine place and that it was worth fighting for....I agree with the last part.

Nothing like getting beaten in British spirit whith a large piece of solid wood designed for a game that can continue for three days and never seem to start.

Surprisingly, although Medway's a s***hole, there's bugger all that happens.

There must be some odd fascination about violence and scum of the world living in places with "York" in the name.
