A while ago I asked Serjical Strike Records if I could create a street team for them. At first they didn't really care. They kind of shrugged and gave me the 'meh, go for it'. So I created http://www.myspace.com/serjicalstrikestreet . There was never any mention of the Street Team on the official Serjical Strike myspace, and nobody really cared.

Well a short while later, a band on the label called Fair to Midland gives me permission to use anything I need. They hook me up with a ton of hi-res images from their new album which comes out June 12th. I use these images to create posters. Next thing I know, Serjical Strike contacts me all excited because Fair to Midland told them that they saw a bunch of my flyers at some of their concerts.

So Serjical Strike sends me a bunch of PM's asking for my address and e-mail etc... so that we can work together a bit more closely. Next thing I know the SS Street Team is #5 on the Serjical Strike myspace, and I start getting a bunch of friend requests. Now, there are Street Team posters in Rhode Island, Texas, Kansas, North Carolina, New York, California, France, England etc... and the whole thing has really taken off.

Yesterday I got a PM from one of the Street Team members in France. She sent a message out to a radio station in france, and I have no clue what it says. Serjical Strike asked if I could get it translated for them, and I'm just 100% lost. So frenchies, lend me your language!

Loose translation from babblefish:

"I come to tell you a small history... In the current of the Nineties a group formed by 4 men of Armenian extraction was created under the name of System Of A Down (it bore another name at the beginning but good is necessary to make short also;o) lol). During 2006, after approximately good ten years to traverse the roads all the time together, they wanted to blow. Each one walked some of the way its bit of a walk on its side. That which one calls Serj Tankian created in 2001 a label of the name of Serjical Strike Records and helping thunderbolt it helped of young artists to produce their album (Slow fox trot Motion Reign, Kittens for Christian and Bad Acid Trip) while benefitting from its freedom to give birth with Mr Arto Tuncboyaciyan sublimates it Serart album (diminutive of Serj and Arto). But the Mister did not stop there, in more of publishing an album on the series in concert of his association Axis of Justice (created in collaboration with Tom Morello - Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) it collaborated with the brilliant Buckethead guitarist, then one day, on a road of Texas it met Fair To Midland. All this to say what to you? That the label is marvellous, and that it is one zero fault on the choice of the artists produced without counting that I must give voice to do a little pub in order to be likely to see in concert the artists produced by SSR. In short! Small information on the fact that the album of the group Fair To Midland leaves on June 12 and that that would be really well if you speak about it, for that here of the useful bonds.

Voili voilou, I hope that these infos will give you the chip to the ear and that you will speak about the label one from these four, with the sublimissimes groups of course. POutous the team."

^^ Hahahaha! ^^

Edit: Oh I'll give it a crack, at least the first paragraph.
Quote:

During the 90s, A group formed by four Armenian men was made under the name "System Of A Down" (It used to have a different name in the beginning but a mistake shortened it [I need help with that part]) During 2006, after about a good 10 years on tour all the time together, they wanted to break apart(?). Each went about there own way.

I'll try to summarize.

First paragraph talks about how SoaD was formed in the 90s. Second paragraph seems to talk about Serj and his new label company which helped out young artists produce their own albums. It says also about how he collaborated with other people such as this Arto person and some bloke from Buckethead. Third paragraph straight up asks "What does this all mean to you?" Then it seems to go on a bit of a sales pitch for this label company and talks about how this person got to see the artists in concert.

I'd ask seb, Jep, or Big T for a word-for-word translation.

Quick/loose translation:

In the 1990s a band called System of a Down was formed by four Aremenian men. The band originally had a different name, but it had to be shortened. After a decade together, in 2006 the group was falling apart. Several of the members decided to go their own ways.

The member called Serj Tankian started a label called "Serjical Strike Records". Tankian helped many budding artists produce albums (Slow Motion Reign, Kittens for Christian, Bad Acid Trip) while taking advantage of his free time to create the stellar album "Serart" with Mr. Arto Yuncboyaciyan. But he didn't stop there - in addition to editing an album, on his (?? concert label ??) Axis of Justice (created in collaboration with Tom Morello of RATM and Audioslave fame), he would later team up with top-notch guitarist Buckethead. He would go on to meet "Fair To Midland" on his way to Texas.

What does all of this tell you? That the label is excellent, and that its a huge mistake on the part of the artists that it is I who has to give them publicity for a concert of an artist produced by SSR. Here is a bit of information regarding Fair To Midland's album (which will be released June 12). It would be great if you discussed/read the following weblinks:

[myspace links]

I hope this information gives SSR some exposure/buzz, and that these great bands don't go unheard.

For the team,
Elizabeth G

I'd tell you to get a blog but you already have one, so instead I'll kindly ask you to stop cross-posting it here.

EDIT: And 4chan isn't cool. You are either trying to associate yourself with one of the most annoying places on the internet (which is surprisingly fitting), or you don't actually know what /r/ is from in which case you're posing to "fit in" with people who... well... don't. Either way it's annoying and stupid. If you did post on 4chan it would certainly help explain a lot of things about you though.

This isn't 4chan. You're the one that looks like a tool using a 4chan specific termonology here. As Joncy said, 4chan isn't cool. You're a complete idiot if you actually want to let everyone know you visit that cesspool.

Yes, because if it didn't have SOMETHING TO DO with system of a downs, "the best movie ever if you don't like it you suck," your crappy X (Where X is whatever crappy hobbie you currently indulge yourself in and suck at it), or your AWARD WINNING WRITING you wouldn't be posting about it.

I don't see you "making" a crappy myspace for any other independent label.
2007-05-18, 9:21 PM #24
You seriously are a prick. I don't know how you get away with spewing such trash.

All of the bands on the SS label I listen to. I heard about these bands through System. I enjoy these bands. I am showing support of these bands through creating a street team. The street team is doing really great things for these bands by giving them free advertising all around the world. Why do you have to be such a cock about everything? This isn't a "LOOK I'M COOL ON THE INTERNET!" this is a "I'm helping the bands that I enjoy, I need help translating something." Seriously, stop being such a dick. I don't think I've ever seen you post anything nice. I hope you don't act this way around people, because I honestly can't imagine anyone tolerating you and your crap for more than 10 seconds.

Aha, so this thread is about Serj whats his face and System of a Downs.

Like I said, no one cares about either.

No band ever in the history of forever has done this. YOU SIR WIN 10 INTERNETS FOR BEING IMPORTANT ON THE INTERNET.

SRSLY LOL

All you did was make a myspace, and whore out friends. Tons of people do it. No one cares.

Now if you'll look I didn't say anything about cool on internet, but I did say you were trying to be important on internet. And once again it has been for one of the three or for reasons you post.

A movie
System of a downs
Your AWARD WINNING WRITING

Of course you don't see me posting anything nice.

You don't like me, Uh durr. I post nice thing when the situation warrants it. I'm not going to nice things up just so you can be happy at internet. Life isn't all sugar, candy canes, chocolate doughnuts, or whatever else you eat that makes you that fat.

I can't imagine myself caring if people tolerate me or not.

Yes I'm sure Rob is a vindictive and cruel person in real life and not simply annoyed by your unending flood of insipid and tiresome nonsense.

I mean, why would he act the same way in real life as he does on the internet? Do you talk all friends and passerby to death about your poetry or your system of a downs heroism or....... um, okay, you do so maybe that's a bad example. But still, not all of us are like that.
