Windows Vista (again)

Reloaded Vista on my desktop last night. nVidia came out with some non suck drivers for my 7800GTXs and nForce4 chipset, and Creative came out with good drivers for my X-Fi. My "score" in Vista went up from a 4.5 to a 5.0, which is only because my processor is a bit older. (4400+ x2 939).

It runs so SO much better then it did before... so I take back my Vista bashing for now

I just wanna see how fast the boot time would be with a spanktacular comp.

CS:S still runs like crap, all games have this annoying stutter that is much worse in newer games.

Everything non-3d works awesomely though. nVidia has a LONG way to go.

i haven't noticed any stutter in games

I got Ultimate because it was given to me free at work, but it's probably the version I would have bought anyway. Ultimate is all the stuff from Home Premium and Business together, plus some extra little stuff.

I use home premium, and unless you absolutely must have Remote Desktop, I don't see any reason to get Ultimate.

Are there any versions of Vista that let you install on two computers, or do you have to pay for each license seperately?
.
2007-05-19, 12:14 PM #13
you have to pay for each separately :(

Vista is so much better than XP once you get used to it.

Everything about the interface is just BETTER. Period.

PS, who wants to bet Tiberium_Empire botches installing his "legal" version of XP.

I just played 4 hours of halo pc on the lan with no problems. And I'm running SLI, which has given me fits in Vista up until these new drivers. Doesn't run any slower in Vista then it did in XP either. Same story for the Macbook, it runs fine.

I don't have any stuttering either. Halo or Oblivion with all settings maxed out. Maybe it's just you.

I take it back, the stuttering only seems to remain in Eve Online now.

I still aren't getting the performance I should though. Oh well.
