(Sorry, but FGR announced it before Deus Ex was released)

(Actually just two days ago. Or yesterday.)

Yep. Still, it deserves more attention.

Sweet. I hope it doesn't suffer the fate of 2 though.

On a side note, I noticed Deus Ex is on Steam for $10. I am really tempted to buy it, because I have a copy but everything is buggy as hell in XP, so I was hoping this was a newer version tweaked for new machines. Can anyone verify this? Or am I just wasting my money on the same thing?

What? DX runs great in XP. Google OpenGL and Direct3D renderers for the original Unreal. The guy that redid them for Unreal has ones that work with DX.

Neither game is out, and they are of different genres. :downswords:

It's Hurrlockmish anyway...

...but my hopes for Deus Ex 3 aren't up, maybe in some case they have proper people who know what went wrong with Invisible War and what should be fixed, maybe not.

(but still, weeee!)

I don't think there will ever be a true deus ex 2, the first was just too good.

Since I enjoyed both of the first two, I can't lose on the third.

Hopefully.

The second one wasn't a bad game at all. It had its share of good stuff, but it lacked nearly everything that would have made it a Deus Ex game. Hell, I just call it Invisible War unless I'm in the mood of remembering how it's not that Deusexy (yet the flashback sequences to DX1 were one of the few really good parts) and should have been called Deus Ex: A Lost Opportunity instead.

However, if they just had released an SDK for it... then it could have been saved. Hm.

It was kinda so-so even without the Deus Ex title. Universal ammo and the long load times killed it for me.

Agreed, universal ammo was something that shocks me even today.

Yet as one of the ammo options it wouldn't be so bad, but being the exclusive one? Geez.

I thought the graphics really, really sucked in Invisible War, not to mention that the levels were all pretty much just corridors with different textures slapped on them. I mean, there wasn't even anything the likes of the original game's first mission. And for its crappy graphics, it had a pretty bad FPS rate. Don't know, I just didn't find it fun to play. And yeah, universal ammo. How lame is that?

The physics in Invisible War were :downs:. Seriously, I remember shooting a traffic cone with a pistol and it flew over a wall. They were using Havok, too, which makes it more insane. It's like they had Friend14 heading up the physics integration team.
