How do you like your water?
2007-05-22, 4:09 PM #1
I was drinking water, until I realized that I like to drink water at room temperature rather than cold. I don't really have sensitive teeth, but I guess I just like it that way.

When I'm desperate for very cold water, I would chew on minty gum, spit it out and drink refrigerated water. That makes the water even colder.

Yes, they are. A lot of household water filters won't even fit in a typical fridge.

Link one household filter that won't fit in a fridge.

Remember, it has to be one that you'll commonly find in someone's house. Hence household.

Being that it's ****ing hot around here, I generally take my water cold.

I think it's a psychological thing. Like, if I drink warm water it makes me feel hot.. Maybe I'm just crazy O_o

Nope, know how you feel. Been to Death Valley and it's pretty damn hot there in the summer. Warm water pisses me off cause I know I want cold water when I want it.

To be fair the most I've appreciated water was when it was bottled from a stream and then mild chlorinated with taablets to stop it killing me. Yay 80km hikes!
nope.

What really pisses me off is that the freezers and fridges we have around here barely work because all our **** is running off a 40k generator and we need at least a 120k to have everything working at full power.

The system is if you take a bottle of water out of the freezer you put another one in, But these lazy ****s around here don't want to do that. So it ends up that every time you go to get a bottle of water, the whole time thinking you'll be getting a nice, cool refreshing cold one, You end up drinking hot water.

Seriously, lazy people should swallow a knife.

Any filter for a house that gets its water from a well. Like my mother's. The pump and filter system is rather large overall.

I have to have my H2O iced down. Room temp water is really gross to me for some reason.

I've also noticed that if I chew minty gum, I tend to drink less water. Probably true of chewing any gum, but I'm pretty picky about my gum too.

Would that not count as 'from a well' then instead of filtered? Saying 'filtered' as a poll option in something such as this leads to confusion. IIRC, almost all wells have filters, or at least water softeners.

Actually most wells don't have filters at all. They may have softeners in some cases, but most times there is no real filtration.

And most of the times when a filter is used, it's simply there to remove iron and/or sulfur, the two big problems you sometimes run into with well water.

I almost always just drink tap water just cause it's easier.
Temperature doesn't really bother me as long as it's not scalding hot or acctualy frozen.

I usually drink water right out of the tap. Comes out cool enough for me.

Refrigerated + Filtered.

California tap water is TERRIBLE, so it has to be processed before drinking in order to be fit for human consumption.

I usually drink tap water with the faucet set to the coldest it will get. The tap water around here doesn't taste as good as it did before they switched from chlorine to chloramines, but it's tolerable.
Why do the heathens rage behind the firehouse?
2007-05-23, 12:22 AM #34
Pretty much any household filter won't fit in my fridge since the shelves in the fridge are too close together and we can't do anything about it since each person in the house gets one shelf.

In addition, my parents use a filter but they don't use the fridge, I personally don't use a filter because I prefer it straight out of the tap (after running for a few seconds to get it chilled).

It's got to be filtered and chilled. I never drink water straight from the tap here, because... well, it's usually kind of brown.
