Yeah, I have installed and used it before. It's easy stuff.

You might want to be more specific about what you want to do with it.

.NET ftw

I WENT THERE!

Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I do like .NET, particularly with C#. It's underrated.

.NET and Java are terrible for web development, I say this because it's true. The only thing they have on Rails is the speed advantage, but web apps are generally simple algorithmically and the database is far more likely to be the bottleneck.

Java is a pain because setting up applications with JSP is totally bass ackwards, among other things. But ASP.NET is...not terrible at all.

Let's not forget Rails inherent lack of scalability and often poor implementation of, like, everything. :eng101:

Instant Rails works fine. I've been using it while working along with my "Ruby on Rails: Up and Running" book from O'Reilly.

Makes sense. I have never made web apps with .NET or Java, just desktop apps.
