just bought the card, but damn does it have problems

my desktop is quite laggy unless I run on 1024x768 resolution
games are out of the question, and are uber laggy as well

my system specs are:
2.8 Ghz Pentium IV
1.5 GB RAM
114 GB hard-drive
400 watt power supply
EV730 monitor (max refresh rate of 60 Mhz)

the card only requires 256 MB of RAM, an 8x AGP slot, and a Pentium IV processor

I far surpassed the requirements so I assumed it would work, but I guess not

any suggestions comrades?
But it was so artfully done...

Buy a better card

Do you have the latest drivers for the card?

While it begs the question of why you'd buy such a horribly horribly cheap old card, it shouldn't be lagging on the desktop.

Get the latest drivers off nvidia's site.

I already have downloaded the latest drivers and this behavior is far from normal for the card since the box boasts that it supports up to 2048x1536 resolution at 85Hz, has a 64bit DDR Memory interface, and supports directX 9.0

No one is saying it shouldn't lag on the desktop...

The "latest drivers" probably aren't helping things. My experience with GeForce drivers is newer!=better, especially with older cards.

Your monitor maxes out at 60MHz? Er, that sucks.

The problem is you're using a Geforce 6200 instead of a good graphics card.
