Poll : Over 18 and still living with the parents?
2007-05-31, 8:38 PM #1
Lets take a poll, who here actually doesn't live with their parents still? Being a full-time university student doesn't count. And no, community college doesn't count as full time university, who are you trying to fool with that one math class? :P

Hmm.. I voted no because I do have my own place but my parents are still paying for most of my insurance and I just finished my last semester as full-time student but still have a couple classes before I graduate.

So while I am out of their house, I'm still leaching everything I can. ;D

I don't know why I voted "Hell no" right away. I'm at home now for the summer.

I'm away at school pretty much full time, but technically the parents' house is still my primary residence.

Voted yes, but I am a full-time student.
2007-05-31, 11:38 PM #14
I voted "no" before reading the first post. Forgiveness please! I am a full time student, and staying at my place away from my mom's for the summer, but will likely return after school. I'm applying to the military, and I hear the wait times can be pretty severe. With no way to know when I'd be called up, getting a job in the interim would be a tad tricky. I'll need to leech for a bit.

I'm surprised to hear you say that about wait times, given how much media attention the Canadian Forces are getting. They seem to have been really pushing recruitment over the past year.

I'm still living at home, despite being almost 26 years old. I'm a full-time student at the local community college (well, technically part-time since I don't take enough classes per semester to be considered full-time).

I would have left home long ago but unfortunately, I haven't gained a steady job or a reliable form of transportation (no car :( ) yet so I'm stuck at home until I finally achieved those necessary requirements for independence. Hopefully that'll be soon because it would be nice to have my own place and not have to listen to my Dad rant all the time :)

I'm a full time student but before on my gap year I moved out and I'm staying away over summer too so I voted hell no. I like my independance :)

I'm 22 and still live in my parents' basement, because I couldn't afford my own apartment.
Plus it's so conveniently close to work.
And all people who are older than me told me to stay put. ;)

While I'm no longer in community college, when I was, I was a full-time student that took a minimum of 4-5 classes each semester (12-15 credit hours (just as many as the average university student)) and many of my teachers also taught at the universities around town.

I'm 27 years old and I of course no longer live at home.

I'm a full time 365 days of the year student, I only go home for christmas and family occasions and so I voted HELL NO.

the fact that I'm going to be living in geneva for a year come september kinda confirms that.

but when I finish my phd I can be pretty sure that I'll end up living back home for 6 months or so until I find a house I can afford.

21, still live at home. Hey, it's 10 minutes from the University.

Shamefully and regrettably I still live at home and yep I have to share the TV, mind my mums new carpet and have to ring to ask 'Where's my sweatband?' (only because I did not see when I filled my new drawers in my 'Den of Doom' as mum calls it). Im happy living with my parents (for now) while I save to have a place of my own :).

From what I hear, the problem is that they're recruiting like mad, but are still horribly understaffed. It's a bit of a bottleneck. Eventually it will all balance out, but until then...

22, not a student anymore, and still at home. very sad.

but, my mum wants to move out of the city and the rent on this place is insanely cheap, so I'm waiting for her to leave so that I can stay here alone

19 (20 soon! weird) and I'm a student, but I live with my parents while not at school. Didn't vote, since I don't know what option that would be.
