Pentium III 300MHz overclocked to 412MHz
192MB PC100 SDRAM
Voodoo3 2000 16MB PCI
Diamond Monster Sound 2 (Aureal Vortex 2 Chipset, which did better 3D audio then my X-Fi does now)
20GB HDD
17" Gateway CRT
USR 56k x2 Modem

What did you first get into JK with?
gbk is 50 probably

MB IS FAT
2007-06-03, 7:46 PM #2
AMD-K6 266Mhz
64 or 128MB RAM
Voodoo 2
6GB HDD

My brother started playing JK on a P1 75Mhz.

I was still popping in hole-punched cards when JK came out.

-PII 350MHz
-ATI Rage pro
- 320MB of SDRAM (Way too much for that machine. My dad thought that the solution to every PC problem was more RAM)
- Broken on board audio (Before I knew how to install drivers. Or use google to find the right ones.)
8GB HDD

This was my first computer, back in 1996.

Pentium 133 MHZ
64 MB RAM
1 GB Hard Drive
no hardware 3d acceleration
Some weird hybrid modem/sound PCI card
Windows 95 original edition

I'm amazed that JK even worked at all, but I was able to play at 640 x 480.
2007-06-03, 8:40 PM #6
It was a PIII, god only knows the exact specs. All I remember is that going into 800 x 600 made my computer choppy.

- AMD K6 133 Mhz CPU
- about 48 MB RAM (don't quite remember)
- Unknown Motherboard
- 3D Blaster video card (not sure of the tech behind that card)
- SoundBlaster Pro 2.0 (not sure what the actually name was)
- 4x CD-ROM
- don't remember the size of the HDD

It's been like almost 10 years since I had that computer so I don't quite remember the details. I'm sure the readme.txt files I included in my jedi knight levels at the time should have something close to what I just wrote.

When I first got JK I used...*creepy, dramatic music*

...Windows ME.
2007-06-03, 9:37 PM #9
Pentium 166
16mb ram

There was great rejoicing when I got a 3dfx Voodoo Rush 8mb video card.
Lyrics are highly overrated.

P100, 16MB of RAM, 1GB HDD, no video card to speak of.

Worked ok in 640 x 480 :)
2007-06-03, 10:35 PM #11
If I remember correctly, a Cyrix 2 300 mHz, with 64 MB of RAM. I got a Voodoo card (don't remember the model) not long after, and the difference in performance was like night and day.
2007-06-03, 10:41 PM #12
Pentium 150 mhz
16 MB RAM
2 MB Graphic Card
Pissed Off?
2007-06-03, 10:43 PM #13
Mine was a PII 266 mhz, 32MB of Ram, 3.2GB HD, 4MB ATI Video Card running Windows 95.

Originally I had a P100 with 32 MB of RAM and a 4 MB Creative Graphics Blaster that was not compatible with JK. .(

Later we got a PII 450 with 128 MB of RAM and a 4 MB Rage LT Pro 2x or something that worked with JK, except I had no translucencies until my TNT2 Ultra.

Pentium 166 MMX
32 MB RAM
2 GB HD
Ati Rage II+ 3D (1 MB wooh)

I used that system up to 2002 (except I got 2 HD's in 2001 and reinstalled JK... which actually made me join this place too).

200 MHz Pentium with MMX Technology
Cirrus Logic Super Video Graphics Adapter
16 MB 66MHz EDO RAM
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Pro
US Robotics X2 Modem (which was a great buy because my ISP went with k56flex and I could connect at 28.8 because of it)
4x CD-ROM
1 GB HDD (I think)
2007-06-04, 4:04 AM #17
God only knows.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
2007-06-04, 4:10 AM #18
Oh damn....

pentium 1
like 64 megs of ram
windows 95
something like 3 gigs of hard drive space after the OS installed (I remember having to uninstall a game before I could play a different one every time I wanted to play it)

We've come a long way...

I'm to embarassed to say.

I will only say I ran Windows ME

At first I played on my brother's Cyrix 120MHz. Don't know any of the other specs. Later I got a Pentium 2 266MHz. I only know that it had a 4 GB hard drive and some bad video card. When I later got my Voodoo 2 I was amazed at how fast you could switch weapons in the game.
Sorry for the lousy German
2007-06-04, 4:40 AM #22
k6 266 mhz
32 mb ram
3 gb hd
no graphics card (Later, I got a voodoo3 3000. I still have it.)

And this wasn't my first machine. I played doom on a ps/1 with 8mb of ram and a 500mb hd. It was a 286. :D!
Wikissassi sucks.

mine was about the same as this.. though I think I only had 16 MB or RAM. And nVidia TNT 2 3d card. (and no idea on the hard drive size).
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

For my overall system when I got JK:

About 700 MHz processor
256 MB RAM (later upgraded to 384)
40 GB HD

I don't remember the graphics card or anything and I'm not going to look it up...though I still have that computer.
2007-06-04, 8:30 AM #27
Damn, that thing would have been a beast! Back in my golden age of gaming, a 600 mHz machine was pretty decent, and an 800 would make me drool. I would have killed to have had your rig. So much struggling with the "minimum system requirements" *sigh*.
2007-06-04, 8:34 AM #28
When I got JK this was my system:

AMD K6 366mhz
ATI Rage Pro 8mb (onboard)
128mb ram
10gb hard drive

It ran JK pretty well. I used to play it at 1024x768 and it ran fine.

Later I upgraded it with a Vodoo 3 3000 and it ran great! :P

First:
Windows 95
Pentium 133
16Mb RAM
1.2Gb HDD
Diamond Voodoo 3D (was a Matrox but upgraded)

Mostly played it on:
Windows 98
PII 355MHz
96MB RAM
20GB HDD
32MB GeForce 4

These may be slightly off. I wasn't as computer savvy at 12... :P

I know what you feel like about Windows ME.
2007-06-04, 9:21 AM #31
The first system I played JK on was:

300mhz AMD K6-2 (Later upgraded to 450mhz)
64MB RAM
24x cdrom
6.4GB HD
ATI Rage Pro Turbo (later upgraded to another ATI card, and then the omfg Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. Man that thing was sex)
Some creative soundcard, I think Sound Blaster PCI

It ran JK well enough, but my ISP (AOL) sucked madly, so the zone was a mixed experience. My first day with cable was like a dream.
2007-06-04, 9:55 AM #32
Win95
Pentium 133 Mhz
2 GB hard drive
Integrated GPU? Maybe it was just software 3D.
Can't remember other information

I bought the game before I had a PC that could run it. At the time I was using a 386 with 4MB of RAM, some SVGA video card, a 500 MB HDD, and a SoundBlaster 16.

I played my copy at a friend's house for nearly a year before I got a decent system of my own.
P3 450 mhz
128 MB RAM
9.3 GB HDD (huge)
56k modem
Voodoo Banshee
Integrated sound at first, then a SB Live! 5.1 at some point
And of course, a cheapass mechanical mouse
2007-06-04, 12:40 PM #35
Haha, actually yeah, I did that too, Aglar. I had a 486 DX100 with 32 MB of RAM and some Hercules VESA card. JK ran rather poorly even in low resolution.
