And whipped out probably the best game in my arsenal.... Battletoads. Hard as hell, but tons of fun. Me and my brother-in-law are getting together this weekend to relive some glory days. So, name your favorite NES game!
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

That game is pretty fun....but good god is it hard. I could rarely past the bike stage back then. If you two can finish the game, consider rewarding yourselves.

My favorite has always been River City Ransom. Just such a quirky/weird game with a great combat system (especially with two players).

Super Contra!

also, Shadowgate (which I have on my cellphone)
Excitebike
Legend of Zelda (of course)

Yeah, games were terribly hard back in the day. I don't think I started finishing games until I got to SNES!

Having a hard time remembering any NES games.. so I'm just gonna say "Mega Man 3"

Um, Super Mario Bros 3, DUH!

And Battletoads is pretty crazy.

Battletoads... hell yeah.

The first bike mission is pretty easy. There's a warp where you intentionally hit one of the walls and it'll warp you to a later stage. Never could beat that game without warping, though.

It's my favorite game ever. I still play it about twice per year, I dunno why.

ooooh TMNT2... awesome game

I've pulled out my old Genesis. Relived some of the glory days of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 (don't have 3 :( ), The Lion King (insanely hard), NBA Jam.... World Championship Soccer II (its a button mashing fest, I <3 it).
Oh so much fun.
yay for not posting much ever

ooh, I love The Lion King and NBA Jam. Though I thought they were better on SNES, cause I liked the controller a lot better.

I could never pass that ice level on Battletoads. =(

I'd be so happy to pass the bike stage, but that was as far as my happiness went.

Still, co-op was fun. However, I never could get we would always just fight each other (especially when on the wire section). Great game!

My brother and I still play, nearly years later, Battletoads, Balloon Fight (yay), Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers, and Super Mario Bros. 3. In October, on my 23rd birthday, it will be 20 years that I've been playing video games (my grandmother bought me a NES for my 3rd birthday, not knowing that little children dont need $500 electronics when $5 toys would suffice).

Oh god yes. BUBBLE BOBBLE. Best game ever.

And I used to spend HOURS on end playing Dr. Mario.

I don't think Battletoads would be so hard if it didn't have like 87 levels which get progressively more difficult.

I enjoyed Astyanax quite a bit. One that I didn't really like, but couldn't stop playing was Blaster Master. I found it to be hard as hell, but didn't want to give the game the satisfaction of beating me. I eventually gave up.( .

Yeah, TMNT 2 was fun. And also I remember playing a very hard Robocop game on it.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors was an insane coop game. We got all SWAT team with it back in 4th grade. Oh my god I miss our summertime fun. We'd go outside with squirtguns and reinact the game So great.

I would play Blaster Master for hours. I hated the overhead on-foot sections, though.

Hey, got a question for you: who owns barter town?
2007-06-08, 10:18 AM #30
The phrase you're looking for is "Who run Barter Town?"

And that's "Master Blaster" who runs Barter town, as opposed to "Blaster Master", the video game.

Ditto. I didn't like being separated from my tank at all. The dude was too fragile on his own.

Marble Madness. Nuff said.
2007-06-08, 5:44 PM #33
god, marble madness SUCKED HARDCORE. Cause you'd sit there and play for hours and not be able to make it past like 3 levels.. And when you're done all you have to show for it is your left thumb being severely disfigured, out of joint and in lots of pain...

I loved it.

I'm not sure why they even made the 5th level in that game. It's not like it's possible to make it there.

Duck Hunt

I taped a laser to the side of the light gun.
