The origin of the name Michal is Hebrew

I'm surprised they had my name listed. I'm also surprised that the origin is Hebrew, and not Polish like I thought.

Which disagrees with every other definition of my name. Probably the old Gaelic meaning vs. the catholic meaning which is "Sword on the mountain" or "Shining glory on his mountain"

http://www.babynames.com/Names/LordoftheRings/ <-- While I'm a big fan of the books, I would still not name my child "Elessar"

I'm told, "Cline" is the Americanized version of Klein which is "short" in German or Clyne which is "deceitful" in Irish (explains a lot of things actually) or "slope" in Scottish. Slope makes sense if you've seen my dad's beer belly.

Doron = gift (ancient greek)
Assayas = horse caretaker (sephardic origin)

[edit]
by the way, Doron is the masculine of Dora (which is much more common as a name in Western culture today). The root 'dor' is also present in Theodor which means 'Gift of God'.
