I've got some hand-me-down dsl modem/wireless router that I've bastardized into my LinkSys router so I could connect my Wii to the interwebs. More often than not, I'm fighting with my Wii to get it to connect to the internet. It finds the *******-router just fine and has full signal strength, it just has problems every now and then getting a connection. We live in an apartment with steel walls or some such, but there's only a slither of wall blocking a direct line of sight from the wireless router to the Wii. (no real wireless network experiance here btw) Also it's embedded between two PC towers. I'm wondering if any of this could cause interference or something?
I'm tempted to just get the ethernet adapter and use ye ol' reliable cat5 cable 100mps goodness directly to my LinkSys router, but that costs $$.
