Ok so i have this [Newish] 1GHz comp and am [For sure now] getting a brand spanking new rig in a week or so and came here for some games that would work on this machine for the meanwhile.

Already got BF1942 [Kickass] and 'Nam[Servers all FAIL!] and EAW.

How are we going to make game suggestion when we don't know the specs of this "new" machine?

Computer specs matter. Last time imsoshort made a thread about games for his last "new" computer, it was a wasted effort. When he said "getting a new computer" it meant "fishing out a crappy computer from the neighbor's garbage". It was hardly an upgrade from the previous one.

Planescape: Torment, Fallout, Baldur's Gate 2. Jagged Alliance 2 is a pretty good game too, if you're into that sort of thing.

He'd have to over clock to get good frame rates on that. It'll still be a bit choppy in parts though.

"Mafia" was an absolutely amazing game that might run on that system. Seriously. It was amazing.

You also might try HL2 and FarCry. Dunno if thats pushing it, but those rock too.

I've an ancient 1.4 processor (512 RAM, Radeon 9600), and while HL2 and FarCry run at semi-decent frame rates, Mafia lags terribly. I don't think any of those games would run on a 1.0.

Driving in Mafia was awful, so bloody awful.



And yet the game is incredible and one everyone should play through once.

Theres this really awesome game Tiberium_Empire should try called "Go Away"

It has an AWESOME expansion pack called "And Never Come Back."

I played Mafia on a 1.1 Ghz if I remember correctly, but that was also with a pretty good video card.
