Never heard of a Pounce Invite (What is it?)

I've gotten 20 some iLike invites..... from one person..... who didn't get the hint when I blocked him from AIM (back when I used it), MSN, and my e-mail.

What is pounce?

Lazy people.

Pownce is a way to send messages, files, links, and events to your friends. You'll create a network of the people you know and then you can share stuff with all of them, just a few of them, or even just one other person really fast.

It includes a web application (using the new AIR system from Adobe, which is the only reason I'm trying it) in order to easily share and distribute files and whatnot to friends. It's by no means revolutionary, and it's by no means new. It's just a new 2.0 kevin rose take on an old concept.

I don't want to hear your oh-so-enlightened opinions, either. I'm offering invites to TRY IT OUT and see if it's just the same old thing.

So far I haven't had time to delve into it.

No idea what your e-mail is, Asp. I don't have my old PC plugged in, so I can't find it.

And that also means I'll be out of invites once asp joins. Solicit Dave, buck, boco, brian and GBK if you want one.

It's alright. The file upload and a lot of the forms don't work properly in Opera. Which is weird because every major JS library in existence supports opera, so maybe they made their own. Anyway, I sent an mp3 file and it recognizes it and lets me play it right in the browser. That's cool.

It seems like just another way to send files or messages... don't we already have IM and email for that?

It's pretty useless, really.

leo laport says it's may be a social networking thing in between facebook and jaiku with a bit more options and with file transfer/sharing.
