TOO OLD.

This movie is seriously going to suck.

But it will still make tons of money.

So George Lucas will keep on thinking he still has talent.

I have high hopes. So far I haven't heard anything about outlandish special effects. I'm going to be pissed if there aren't any Nazis. :awesome:

Yeah, if it doesn't have Nazis, it'll blow.

(See: Temple of Doom)

Hey look, it's Yale! So maybe since it's the 50's, he'll fight Commies. Or, Nazi revivalists who've fled to South America? That would be sick... (think, the Boys From Brazil)

Somebody Shia's age has no place as a main character in an Indiana Jones movie.
2007-07-05, 1:53 PM #14
How old is he? He looks exactly like he did during the Even Stevens era

EDIT: Wikepedia...duh! He's 21

nope.

Temple of Doom is dead to me, it never happened.
2007-07-05, 2:57 PM #17
I heard it takes place in the 50's because of Ford's age so it'll probably be commies instead of Nazis.
The cake is a lie... THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!

Maybe he'll fight the nurses at the old folks home! :hist101:
My blawgh.
2007-07-05, 3:28 PM #19
Yeah, Temple of Doom sits right next to the Star Wars Holiday Special in my heart.

And if it's commies it will just be another lame russo-ameri-brit spy movie. Sadness.

The movie will probably be alright but the soundtrack will blow. It'll be an Indiana Jones theme remix with snare drums and slide whistles. John Williams is a hack.

I so badly want this film to be good :( Please be good, Indy 4. Please.

As much as I like Shia THE BUFF, he really does look like a toolbag. Also, they fight some sort of soldiers. There is a quick video clip on indianajones.com
Think while it's still legal.

I love how ya'll have seen like five pictures and already think the movie is going to suck. It's like everyone thinking Iron Man will suck because Robert Downey Jr is playing Tony Stark.

I don't know what the problem is, everything looks fine for a 50's period...

Even if it isn't spectacular, it will probably entertain. Spielberg's few disappointments (e.g. War of the Worlds) were still pretty entertaining.

Its Harrison Ford, he looks too old to still be that athletic, youthful, entertaining Indiana Jones.

People said Stallone was too old for Rocky Balboa and that turned out amazing. I love when people make blind judgement about this sort of thing. They almost always turn out to be wrong.

The movie will tell the true story of how Hitler died.

With a whip around his neck.

Rocky didn't do so well, I was only able to sit through it once, now I keep falling asleep. But hey, it was better than I thought. Maybe this will be just as good.

The thing that would really suck is if they attempted to do a spin-off with Shia's character.

I think this movie would be MUCH better with Sean Cohnery in it, somewhere.

Meh, screw that cult of personality BS. It wouldn't be automatically good if Connery was in it because 'zomg it's connery,' it'll be good if the story and cinematography and acting are good.
2007-07-06, 2:14 PM #35
Connery did Zarbov.

Connery is not a good actor.

So you want a MUCH older character to be in a movie that you doubt will be successful because of the age of the main character? Gold logic is :awesome:

It has been mentioned that this movie will take a similar approach like Rocky Balboa, in which age is mentioned a lot, not just written off as non-problematic.

The difference is, Connery WOULDN'T have an action demanding role, that requires the person to be young and athletic, like Ford's role. Your logic is :psyduck:.

2007-07-06, 4:29 PM #38
You're assuming that his role requires him to be fit and young and athletic when it's pretty well understood that this movie takes place years after the previous ones, and that its suspected that his age is going to be explained as a factor in the lack of being-dragged-along-the-road-by-a-truck-for-3-miles.
2007-07-06, 4:41 PM #39
Well, he is INDIANA JONES, he should have SOME action. Maybe he'll just use his gun! Great!
Nothing to see here, move along.
2007-07-06, 5:23 PM #40
No, Shia is there to replace the getting dragged behind a truck.

Harrison is there to be Indiana Jones.

Indiana Jones does not equal getting dragged behind a truck. That's one facet of his character. He also gets sloppy seconds from his dad.
