Massassi Court of LAWL

It's time to put Massassi's fortune-telling abilities to the test!

A few of you might remember this thread (here) and this thread (there) about a murder in my hometown of a 19yr old beauty queen back in December of '05.

It has finally gone to trial - in a different town - this week.

So without knowing ANY evidence or anything useful (or I guess if you want, the local paper is all over it - The Courier) use your prognostication skills and predict whether the boyfriend will found GUILTY OF MURDER or INNOCENT.

[Thanks Anovis for the "lawl" - and sorry to the chaps that voiced their opinion on the highly-flawed duplicate of this thread]

She's not incredibly attractive.

GUILTY.

In interest of keeping it fair, Innocent.

But convicted. >.>

Oh, you're such a novice!

You have to vote!

Do it now!

And vote innocent just for the heck of it!

Everybody!

Yes, even you!

Point of clarification: He'll be found either guilty or not. He could have still done it but there wasn't enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. So it should read not guilty.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Guilty. This way if I'm wrong I've committed libel -- I've got nothing at stake if I bet on innocent!

Chewb, You're from Arkansas?

What part?

I'm from the Glenwood/Amity area. It's about 45 miles southwest of Hot Springs.

INNOCENT because it reminds me of that rotating talking head from the transformers movie which drops all the robots into the tank of piranha transformer things.

I went with guilty, but I bet he gets a light sentence.

Why would he be found not guilty if he turned himself in? Due to insanity or something?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Was there a warrant for his arrest or something? If so, he might turn himself in to clear his name.

I agree with the, "Not that hot" sentiment, but I figure they'll let him off because of it. "Well... she wasn't that attractive, may as well let him go."

If I remember correctly, he turned himself in as soon as the police put out a warrant. How he found out is another matter altogether...

The verdict is in...

NOT GUILTY.

I predicted guilty, but after reading the coverage in the local paper the last week+, it was becoming clear that there wasn't going to be any way a jury was going to find him guilty without any doubt in their minds. Our local law enforcement are morons, and really mishandled a bunch of stuff in the case. For instance, there was a condom nearby with "DNA" in it. They chose to test it for fingerprints instead of testing the DNA - the fingerprinting process destroys any DNA that might be on it. I guess that leaves two possible options:

1. Boyfriend really was the killer, and now he's running free.
2. Boyfriend wasn't the killer, and there's still a murderer running loose in the city.

Either option really sucks.

I always jump to assuming people are innocent rather than guilty. Things just seem to feel smoother, plus, if I were in that guys shoes I wouldn't want to be known as a murderer before convicted.
