Girl Dog names

Okay, so my mother founds this dog the other day, which had obviously been neglected.

She found it on the side of the road on wednesday, at about 1pm. Skinny, dirty, cuts all over the place. You could see her ribs, the works.

She stops her work truck, feeds the dog, lets her drink a whole bunch of water. Not satisfied with that, she lets the dog in the truck and takes it to the local animal shelter. Now she didn't even coax the dog into the truck, she opened the door and the dog hopped in and sat down all on her own. Happy to be out of the sun I'm sure.

Anyways, we didn't find out until today that she had actually survived. (Which at the time wasn't likely, but because she's only 8 weeks old she pulled through) So we're going to adopt her on monday, which is the earliest that they will allow the dog to be released.

I've only had two female dogs before, and they were named Roxie and The Peanut.

I have no idea what to name this dog, any suggestions?

I thought Persephone sounded nice, but no one else likes that suggestion. :/

(I named both of the dogs we have now, "Speck" and "Chin Chin.")

The only problem with Persephone is she'll end up being called Percy. It'd help if we knew what the poor thing looked like. :)

Also, good for you and your family for taking her in. Had you not, there was a good chance they would have euthanized her.

Biscuit, then you could name one of her puppies Brian.

But only if he can talk.

Lucielle?

Friend of mine name his dog 'damnit'. "Damnit, get over here!" "Stop Damnit!" and so on. Was only funny for about the first 10 minutes.

I know if I ever get a dog i'm naming it 'Diojee' (pronounced Dee Oh Gee, d-o-g hehe)

I thought it made perfect sense.

Persephone was the queen of the dead, and this dog was pretty damn skeletal when she was found. Close enough to dead.

But you do understand that 99% of the people that will ever see the dog will be too busy cooing to even understand the possible meaning of a name.

My girlfriend's sister's dog is named Lexi. I hate that damned dog, but the name isn't bad.

Lexi's a good name. Just don't try to sound too elegant. Persephone is just too posh.

I wasn't thinking of it that way. :/

More queen of death angle...

But the name is too long.

We just got a dog a few weeks ago, and we named her Dory after the fish in Finding Nemo.

May not be your thing, but it is a suggestion. Or Daisy, we considered Daisy too.
