I paid 1100 bucks for mine.

I thought I could resell it for more come Christmastime. I just didn't expect the incredible hype of the Wii. When Christmas came, prices of the PS3 were rarely, if ever, more than 7 or 800 dollars.

Luckily I got a Wii for 250 and resold it for 500. That offset my loss by about half.
1100-600 = 500. 500 - 250 (profit from Wii) = 250.

So I came out not too bad in the end.

Ahh, I see. I guess that's the gamble with hoping a product has high demand and low supply.

Waiting is a gamble, but right now Circuit City does have a special PS3 sale that includes a bonus controller. Furthermore, you can also pick 5 free Blu-ray movies when you purchase a PS3.
